    Steak versus Salmon

I've always been told that Salmon is one of the best meats you can eat when working out. However, I never really looked at what the reasoning was behind it. Just now, I got inspired to take a look... and it sounds like it has more to do with providing more goodness, with less calories.

    From TheDailyPlate:

    6oz steak: Calories: 487, Total Fat: 16.7, Carbs: 0, Protein: 42g

    6oz salmon: Calories: 300, Total Fat: 9g, Carbs: 0g, Protein: 46g

My question is, is there more to it then these macros? I'm wondering whether to replace my steak dinners with salmon dinners to cut cars on cardio days (HIITS), where I likely need less calories then a day I am lifting.
Because if it were easy, I wouldn't be interested.

Eating is not just about macros it's about taste, texture and a whole host of other stuff. A good diet is not one that hit's the macros but one that hits the macros, is varied and enjoyable. Plus there is nothing like a little bit of surf and turf.

    mix/match, dont replace either.
i could start bringing up studies advocating both, but, im not going too.
they both taste great when cooked by a competent.

however, in my opinion, there is some quality about steak that rules them all.
maybe its the creatine, maybe its the history of man hunting its game?

    no clue.

but i do believe this: salmon and beef r great bodybuilding foods.

yes, there is more to it then the numbers and macros.

without getting into it too deep: assuming u worked out with weights the day b4, why would u think your body needs less calories than the day of?
