Last meal?

Doing as much research as I could in trying to adjust my nutrition one more level there are a couple of things I have not figured out.

The last meal- most of the research goes into protein, slow casein, vs. whey etc. then on to cottage cheese or fromage freis- got that

So protein, ok

Now about fat, when to get it in, as it is slowly digested does it make sense to eat it at night to slow down the catabolic effect from the sleep fast?

Or the meals one before or one after the pre and post workout meals?

And any ideas on food would be great, I eat enough supplementation.

Thank you

You want to get more of your carbs in early, (breakfast, pre and post w/o) and have most of the fat content come later in the day.

Depending on goals keep the carbs to what the above person suggested
as for fats eat them throughout the day to help control insulin levels and regulate blood flow throughout the body.

Fats wont make you fat incoprorate them in each of your meals, they help lower the GI of foods when paired with Carbs and Protein and are essentail for hormone and brain function/regulation.

Some people will skimp on them post-workout because they feel the whole P+C thing is the only way to go post-workout. The choice is yours as that subject is debatable

As the above posters have mentioned.

Include a fat with every meal.

Have your starchy carbs eariler in the day and keep them stressed around breakfast/pre/post workout.

If you want you can have your carbs from your other meals from fruits/veggies. That's what I typically do during the summer time to stay leaner.

As for my last meal of the day. I will usually have a casein shake before I go to bed. But I will also resort to a steak before going to sleep also. Steak is a very difficult source of protein to digest/combined with a slower operating system that steak is more then likely to take longer then a casein shake to be digested.
