So I started eating Sweet Potatoes because they're delicious. So, my family and I went to the grocery store and picked up what was labeled a "Sweet Potato"
I just have one question: What color are they supposed to be on the inside? Every sweet potato I've ever had was orange, but this one was white. It wasn't a regular potato (I'm not an idiot, lol), because it tasted sweet, but it wasn't orange.

You've probably been eating yams. The light skinned, light inside potatoes are sweet potatoes; dark skin, orange flesh are yams.

Orange, purple, white.....Orange is best IMO. Never had purple. Yams are very hard to find and are often used to name sweet potatoes mistakingly. Yams are HUGE and grown in Africa. Most of what you get in the store is a sweet potato no matter what its labeled

I bought some sweet potatoes/yams today. All I know is they were orange on the inside, lol.
