from what ive gathered...

so im competing in a figure competition tomorrow and again on sunday (rough, i know) and my trainer (please note: i am following his and only his instructions, just making some conclusions of my own) has us pretty much keep everything the same up til friday evening when we just sip on water. he said tomorrow morning we can have simple carbs like rice cakes or candy and in between shows we will have a solid meal.

so ive been sitting here saturated in jan tana and bored out of my mind, and decided to look up all different "peak week" strategies and "tricks".

would you agree that the whole carb deplete- carb up routine would only be useful if youre super lean? i mean, unless your below atleast 9% bodyfat, there really arent many things you can manipulate from there right? or any that would make a difference...

and how about drinking red wine the night before? i did this for my last show and didnt really notice any differences although it did entertain me a bit because i was super bored (much like i am now, lol).

has anyone ever taken anything to ease your nerves? i get pretty bad anxiety before getting on stage but i feel like zanax or drinking wine right before would be a really bad idea. i guess just suck it up and relax...

I completely agree. Only when super lean do any of the manipulations make the kind of difference that could "make or break" you. Having said that, wrt "tricks" - well, IMO you can't "trick" your body...it's much smarter than you

Wink Stage Jitters

Hey Jess, Just wanted to give you a good tip for the just before getting on stage "Jitters".. You need to meditate for a few minutes. Just focus and visualize yourself on that stage, Confident...winning first place.. you have already gone this far. You only have about a minute and a half on that stage. You can't mess it up now. Be confident and know that you have worked hard for that hard earned bod. Your confidence will reflect to the audience and most importantly the judges. So just focus and relax..You will do great!!
