Felt Tingling in arms

I was doing hammer curls today, and at the end of my 3rd set my bis and forearm started to feel tingling. it almost felt similar to when your leg or arm falls asleep. i was squeezing and focusing real hard on contracting my bi's. anyone feel this or know what's up? could it be i was squeezing too hard and cut off blood? never felt it before though.

Tingling is usually caused by nerve damage. Either you are diabetic and don't know it or my guess would be your tendon has become damaged over time and isn't moving smoothly and when your doing your exercises it is constantly hitting a nerve(s).

Most direct treatment would be to do stretches for your arm and shoulder.

You could have some form of nerve entrapment. Something similar to compartment syndrome, that occurs in runners. You muscle swells to a point were it puts pressure on the brachial plexus nerve causing a tingle or needles. If your symptoms decrease after your work out this could be the cause. Try stretching out between sets and lifting your arm over your head. If your symptoms do not alleviate you need to see your Personal Physician.

Yeah, this was the second time this had ever happened. the other time was while doing dips. it immediately went away as soon as I stopped doing the exercise.

In those of us who lift, it can often be from tightness (made worse by the pump) in the pec minor. This can compromise nerve conduction and blood flow (specifically venous return). It can also be a compartment syndrome type thing (similar to shin splints) in your forearms.
