Ask a guy who just got accepted to ASU's law school anything...
Yeah I'm at work and pumped. I just got an email from them. Arizona State is where I'll be this fall!

A state school here in Utah. Called Utah Valley State (it's getting changed to Utah Valley University this summer). Got my degree in Business Management.
I'm open to changes, but my vision for awhile now has been to be a legal consultant for small and medium sized businesses.
It just made sense for me. It's the way I think (analytical, logical, objective, etc.), and I want to expand my abilities in these areas.

Yes I have researched it extensively. It's just like anything in life, a few winners and a whole lot of losers. Bottom line.

I researched it extensively before I went, and I tell you, no amount of "research" can prepare you.

It's ranked like 50th or something which is considered 'top tier.' The ranking system is bull **** however. If you make your decision upon the school 'ranking,' you're a moron. School's that are top ten (harvard, stanford, yale, etc.)are considered 'national schools.' MEANING, you'll be getting recruited from various places around the nation. From 10 to 50, the schools are considered 'regional schools.' MEANING, you'll MOST LIKELY be getting recruited from firms in that region. So if you don't have the LSAT and GPA to get into a top ten, it really boils down to what region you want to live in.
Summary: it's a really good school that places students mostly in the Arizona area.

Explain to me specifically what you're talking about; The classes? The environment? The work load? The job market?

Little bit of everything you mentioned. I don't know what research you did, if it was talk to current law students, read "1L", watch Paper Chase, whatever it is, it's one of those things you just have to experience. In a school like ASU, the environment should be generally pretty friendly, I go to UF and there really is no "cut-throat" competitiveness. The workload is extensive for first year students, in fact I find myself in the library 40+ hours a week before finals. Some classes are obviously better than others, but many of the "procedure" based classes can be tedious.

So are you regretting it? I've talked to quite a few different current students from the University of Utah and BYU (the 2 law schools in Utah) about their experiences in everyday life (outside of 'recruiting days'). I find that people's responses vary ALOT. I've heard responses from "it takes alot of work, but I absolutely love it" to "It's alot of work, be prepared" to "I wish I wouldn't have come!" My conclusion is that it's obviously not for everyone. BUT, I am convinced that I'm a fit. I'm excited, yet at the same time I realize it takes BIG TIME sacrifices.

I'd say I am with the "It's a lot of work, be prepared" group. I don't regret coming to law school, but no one could have said anything that would have made me realize just how big of a life change it is. I miss having any discernible free time, and the month before exams is absolute hell, something I can guarantee no individual coming from undergrad has ever experienced. It's difficult to think that your entire grade comes from one final exam. Do you know what the curve at ASU is?

I'll be there in the fall, too... at the Business School, though.
And any gym in Scottsdale will have hot broads. I'd recommend an LA Fitness. ASU's gym is okay, but I never see any chicks in there.

No, you're not. 1L class rankings don't come out until after the entire first year.

Exactly, they didn't release class percentiles yet.
