Ever consider downloading the Open Office software? Same programs, with a tiny bit of appearance difference, and you can even save the files in Microsoft Word/Excel/Powerpoint....etc format

i recieved an e mail that was done in word, but i need to modify it, i have office pro 2007 but the trial period finished. i have high speed dsl

Just get openoffice. I've used it for close to 4-5 years now and I personally like it better then office 2007. It's compatible with Office and can create slideshows, word documents, spreadsheets etc. All you have to do is remember to save as instead of the default file extension if you need to edit a file in any of Office tools like word or excel.
