Is it possible to lose 10 lbs in a week?
I am in a little weight loss competition at work. I am about 6 lbs behind the leader, I am currently in second place. Would it be possible to catch up and lose 10 lbs in one week? The most I have ever lost is 4 lbs in a week. I currently weight about 250 lbs. Right now I eat somewhat healthy and workout 5 times a week for between 30 and 45 minutes and lose about 2-3 lbs a week. I would win 100 dollars if I won the competition. Right now I am expecting to get 30 for second place.
Any ideas?

I don't think there's any healthy way of losing 10lbs in a week.

Go on a detox. I've heard of people losing 8 lbs in 3 days. Not healthy but that's a hundred bucks.

dont drink water and get on some kind of cleansing product.
You'll be peeing brown and dry-crapping, but you'll win.

Some kind of high fiber-thrice daily enema-clenbuterol-daily dry sauna cocktail should do the trick.......if you wanna die LOL
10 lbs in a week, unless ur packin' a ton of water and fecal retention, is extremely unhealthy.

U mad?
Mabye if its mostly water weight. 1 lb of fat = 3500 calories, so youd need a 35000 calorie deficit to actually lose the mass, a bit much.
Drink tons of water, eat right, do alot of cardio, and start doing the tricks wrestlers use like spitting constantly.

You can lose 10lbs in one week, wrestlers, boxers and mma fighters do it often, but it's not long term, it's to get through a weigh in then they immediately rehydrate and carb up before the fight. I don't consider it all that healthy either, but it is possible.

I just trimmed off about 8 lbs. in a week. It was almost all water weight. I stopped drinking alcohol (was having 1-2 beers every few days), drank like 1.5 gallons of water a day, stayed off as much sodium as possible. And kicked up my workouts from barely something to full-blown. Doubt you could do that if you've been working out intensely, but who knows.

Yeah...
YOU CAN LOSE 10 lbs in 1 week. All you gotta do is this.
Go to the gym, and burn 5000 calories a day. Or....
Go to the gym and burn 4000 calories a day and eat 1000 calories less every day.

Maybe, high protein, zero carb diet, lots of water (gallons), lots of cardio for the next 9 day.
12 hour before weigh in - no water, lots of time in a Sauna, sweat it out.
Also look around for any boxing or wrestling sites, they have to do this all the time so might have some tips.
If something is easy it probalby isn't worth doing

You should have drank like 2 gallons of water before the initial weigh in lol They might get suspicious when 20mins later you run off to the bathroom and piss for several mins but still lol
Also 10lbs in a week is possible if you are very overweight and are exercising and dieting for the first time but otherwise it wouldn't be very safe.

Well I think I am going to give it a try at least. My plan is to go for a brisk walk in the morning for an hour and a half. In the evening go balls to the wall in the gym for an hour. In my free time do as much house work as I can stand ( I am going to have one clean house when this is done), and eat really really healthy. (1800 Calorie range) Up my water intake, and spend some quality time in the steam room. I will also plan on cleaning out my system for good measure (Adding more fiber to my diet, nothing extreme). Do you think this will even get me close.

If you are very obese it's *possible* (although very unlikely)
Or you can lop off part of a limb... But I wouldn't recommend it.

Would it work? Who knows. But if you're going to try it you should definately get a doctors clearance and be sure you're in great health (if you're going to be burning a few thousand or more calories at the gym LOL!) Especially running on less fuel (calories) LOL!

I would say amputate your leg right below the knee. that should give you about 15lbs of a loss. Ice up your removed part and get it attached again after the weigh in. if it is for $100, then make sure your hospital visit to get it attached again is less $.

When I do excessive cardio like 1/3 of the weight is muscle. I know we are not discussing healthy ways of losing weight though. Also too much overall exersize gets me sick pretty easy.
Now if your like 400lbs and have been eating a ton you can get 10lbs a week with a good % being fat.

отличнo!
lets see, with 10lbs a week i'd wager that 5lbs would be water 4.75lbs would be muscle and .25lbs would be fat.
not the best idea in the world, but its possible. You wouldn't be able to perform basic functions because you'd be so lethargic to do so.

.25? If that, you'll store more fat.

I think it is possible to lose 10lbs in a week. You just have to stay away from bread or anything that'll make you retain water. Buy yourself a sweat suit and do cardio around 2 times a day. I'll warn you though. You're probably going to feel like crap but if $100 is worth it to you then go for it. Let us know what happens and good luck.

I'm just back from a ski holiday in Italy, where I pigged out on pizza and pasta and Bombardinos. When I got home, I went on eggs and steak, and I've dropped 10lb in the last five days. Of course, at least 6lb of that was water, but it still shows on the scales.

In wrestling I lose about 12 lbs. on a hard day. Then I go home and gain back about 10 or 11 of them. I lost around 10 lbs. in the first two weeks and then I really stopped losing it.
Since wrestling ended about a week and a half ago I've gained 15 lbs. that are here to stay.
So I would probably agree with most everyone else and say yes it is possible but most of it will be water.
