Question Best Triceps Exercises, and Safest on the Elbows?

In your experience, which Triceps Exercises are the most effective at working the 3 heads (especially the long head) and are the least likely to cause elbow problems?

    Thanks.

Personally, I believe the best tricep exercises are close-grip bench presses and weighted dips (keeping body upright to target the triceps), and Tate presses. Alot of people also swear by JM presses, but those can be hard on elbows for some people.

I've never had elbow issues with the above exercises, but, I have had elbow pain with skull crushers.....

with proper warm up (i use the rope pulldowns a set of 20-25)...and a bit of experience with skull crushers. your elbows slowly adapt and thats my #1 tricep exercise. (your first set will always hurt, don't go too heavy. but work through some of the pain. just don't be an idiot about it)

the biggest difference in my physique from 160lbs to 190lbs is my triceps doubled in size almost literally and i think skull crushers made a big difference.

Easiest on the elbows? I'd go with cable push-downs or dips probably. Maybe 2H overhead press. CGBP would be good.

Skullcrushers/French Press tweaks my elbow so I personally don't do them. Plenty of other ways to work the tris so it doesn't bother me.

I do close grip bench press, DB skull crushers, and tricep pressdowns. For me this has been the best combo and given me the best results in all 3 heads of my triceps

    tricep

As another poster said CGBP & dips. Also CGBP and overhead lockouts in the power rack. Keeping elbows close to the torso, and exercising finger extensors should help with elbow problems. Cheers!

Bodybuilding is 60% training and 50% diet. Yes that adds up to 110%, because that's what you should be giving it. Change the inside, and the physique will follow.

    lying tri ext(not skullcrusher)
    close grip bench(12" hand spacing)
    reverse grip bench(on smith)
over head db tri ext(french press)
    cable pressdown
    dips
these are the ones that worked best for me
