When you're tired, does your body burn more calories?

Hey ladies,

this might be a stupid question but I've always wondered if your body burns extra calories when you're tired and you work out to keep you awake and functioning? Or less because your metabolism is slower? When I`m tired my workouts seem so much harder...

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
MaLiBu

Probably not since your body tends to burn slower when you don't get enough sleep.

Ya getting enough sleep is really important when it comes to training. I personally try not to workout when I am that tired. I take a nap first.

So to answer your question, I don't think your metabolism is faster when you are tired.

Yeah, I thought so. Thanks for your answers. The problem is that I work 8am-10pm five days a week so by the time I get to the gym I`m already tired but I don`t want to miss out on my workout either.

Have you tried maybe working out before work? You may have more energy in the morning.
