Tanning Help
Hey guys,
Got prom friday and big post prom party afterwards (the hot tup is a good place to show off the new 6 pack!).
Anyways, have never been tanning before but need to do something because i look like a ginger.
Have been once before, but def didnt do the research i needed to do. obv with melanoma and **** its a little weird. but, the questions are about:
1. Sun Screen: i have heard to use a little to avoid burning?
2. Eye Protection: tanning goggles.. where to get? do you need them etc?
and for the h4ters.. i tried the search function but couldnt get answers, so thank you to anyone who reads this thread and has applicable info for me. thanks

They will give you goggles there to use, or you can buy them there for like $3. It is required and you will probably go blind if you dont use them and just looked into the bulbs for 15 minutes. Dont use sunscreen, but I would recommend some sort of tanning cream, it helps moisturize the skin after and during tanning. Pro tan makes good products. I would definately say to buy it on the internet and not at the tanning place, it will be half price on here as opposed to at the place. It may help prevent melanoma, but if your worried about that then id avoid tanning all together, because nothing but preventing rays from your skin can minimize melanoma. Sunscreen would defeat the purpose of tanning. If you are a ginger kid, then tanning will probably not work for you, you will just end up burning your ass off.

You realize he's talking about a tanning bed right?
OP def wear the goggles man, it will mess up your night vision, and depending on how light you are, thats how you should determine how long you go in the bed for. I don't think you need sunscreen, just don't go in as long.

If you have actually tanned before, then go for it, but if you've always been white, ill suggest you just stay white, because i know id rather be white than majorly burnt for the prom. But if you have to be tanned, then use a low spf sunscreen like 15 or something and go into the tanning bed, but not for long, and hopefully it will gradually tan, im fairly white and i got an alright tan last summer using sunscreen and just sitting outside, so its not impossible, but you just dont go massively black. but i suggest you dont make a regular thing of it, tanning beds lead to skin cancer, and that is a big deal, its not just a small dot that gets cut out...
the only safe tan is a fake tan

I think he means a spray on tan or anything that makes you look tan without exposing your skin to UV rays.
