Congrats on your 10th anniversary. That's really good for this day and age, especially for marrying your HS sweetheart.

Thanks, time seems to be going fast. This november will be 16 years since we started dating. I can't believe she put up with me for all these years.

Thanks Anth28. I gotta step away from the computer now, been on all morning. Let the wife sleep in. But now the kids are yelling and I gotta go lay some "parenting" on them. Good day, all....

Everything counts for something. A good friend of mine dated his wife in HS, then they both moved away and lived their lives. Eventually, they met back up again in a different state many years later. They have been together ever since.

Thats kind of how it happened for me. I joined the Army and then a couple years later we met back up when I was on leave and we've been together since.

Thanks again to everyone who posted here. It seems that long relationships aren't popular among the majority. I hear people saying all the time that they just broke up or just hooked up. I get tired of the guys on jobsites talking about the new chicks they hooked up with over the weekend. Then they're like, "why's it hurt when I pee?" Having a good woman in my life has kept me out of alot of trouble. She works at the county clerks office and deals with paperwork for divorce and child support every day. She comes home and tells me about how many she has to file and it's really sad. Alot of young people with kids seperating and then guys trying to find ways to not pay child support. It just seems that not many relationships last. So everyone that is in a good and lasting relationship, keep up the good work, you're better off in the long run.

On a side note, due to issues with $$$ I just got her some roses. I wish I was able to get her something nice, but that's life. Then again, she didn't get me anything, so I shouldn't feel to bad about it. Whatever.

It's more about how you treat the person than material things, at least to me. I'd rather be shown how much I am appreciated with little things than given something huge or expensive and not appreciated. Too many times that's missing in relationships. Cook for her, do the dishes, rub her feet, whatever. Show her appreciation and how much she really means to you. Again, Congrats!

My fiance mean everything to me. She makes me strive to be a better person. She is the light at the end of many a stressful day. Definitely don't know where I would be without her. I can't wait for our wedding this summer and a lifetime together. I think its sad that long lasting relationships are hard to come by and I think its refreshing to meet people like you and the others who have posted here...

Thank you, It;s nice to have a womans outlook on this. I agree with all you've said and already do all that and more. Perhaps thats why we've lasted I was just watching TV and had seen a commercial for jewelry when I posted that I wished I got her more. Damned subliminal messages in those ads, I tell ya. LOL
