Hey doc,
I'm a student aspiring to be a doctor. However, i'm also an extreme clean freak, and I absolutely freak out if I have to touch or do stuff that's dirty. I still want to be a doctor. Is there any area in the profession where I don't have to checkup on nasty things?? Does ever single aspiring MD have to physically examine sick people, or is there an alternative route? I am also thinking about being a research scientist, one who could possibly discover new drugs to help the profession. What do you suggest?

i have a question....how does a large dosage of vitamin A effect the immune system? specifically a course of Accutane
I'm getting into an argument with a friend and he says that it effected his immune system because he was getting lots of colds. i said it didn't effect it because when I took it for 7 months my WBC count was the same in all my blood tests
and i understand that theres more to the immune system than WBC but it's a bigger portion of it right?

If i were her, i'd take legal action against the school. i'm sure the school has a formalized code of behavior that she violated but it doesn't call for a getting kicked out of med school. Maybe a really long suspension woud be right.
But anyway, if she/he was smart enough to get into med school. im sure he/she can do it again.

Exactly why I want to be a Physical Therapist that specializes in Spinal Cord Injuries, like myself. I had my life saved when I was in the hospital, so I want to go back and work at the same place. I can relate to all the patients on a personal level, and I could also give them information the able-bodied PTs don't know about.

Bump to this as I have a story to add..
A few years ago, someone (male med student) was doing their respiratory clinical assessment. For women obviously you need to move the breasts out of the way if they are in the way so you can listen to the lungs in the appropriate places - the correct way to move them being either the back of your hand, or by asking them to do so. This medical student, in their assessment decided to lift the breasts out of the way by the nipples.
Needless to say, they failed. My journal: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=7069091
