Ranting...trying to be strong.
It seems now that I am trying to eat clean, EVERYONE around me just eats all the fatty stuff that I used to love. For example, breakfast, I am planning to eat my oatmeal and boiled eggs but on the way I get asked by people in order for them to save time, to pick up SAUSAGE MCMUFFINS, etc. Lunch time comes around, before I can break out my salad, brown rice and chicken breast, I have to run and get double DOUBLE CHEESE BURGERS OR TACOS for the coworkers. Dinner time rolls aroud and am at home with my family, still trying to eat clean and what is all around me while I'm trying to prepare meals? DOUGHNUTS, CHOCOLATE CANDY, HAMBURGERS, FRENCH FRIES, BURRITOS, BEER. That was all the stuff I used to eat and sometimes it's torture. Just ranting because it really bothers me, seems like they get it on purpose to try and see if I'll crack. I know not everyone is on a diet but, these are the people that SHOULD be!

Girl, keep on eating what you KNOW you should be eating. You aren't going to change anyone else around you. They have to want it for themselves. One question that comes to mind is, why are you the one who has to pick up the crap food for these people? I say if they want it bad enough, they can go get it themselves. No one is forcing them to not bring their breakfast or lunch to work. By sending you to go get it, that enables their laziness dontcha think?

Thanks, I'll keep thinking that when I'm the one eating the salad and they are eating a cheese burger. maybe I'll just think of the cheeseburger as them just gaining another pound every bite.

Get their crappy food in stride! I'm in the same boat especially since I travel so much. Let them get FAT FAT and FATTER!!!! If they ever ask you why you're not eating what they're eating respond with "because I don't eat crap that makes you fat!"
Try not to give in to those smells. Just keep in mind that every day you cheat and say to yourself you're gonna get back on track tomorrow just prolong's the time to get to your goal!
So let them keep getting fatter - use that as your motivation to keep getting smaller and more fit!! Best of luck, keep at it.

Tell them to walk and go get the crap food themselves. At least that way they won't get REALLY fat.
I think you should tell that you're the smart one by bringing your own healthy food and saving money.
Let them get fat and poor.
(sorry....had to vent a bit....)

Tommy Boy
Has anyone seen that part in Tommy Boy where they're riding in the car (on their sales trip), and Tommy Boy is eating and eating and eating (fatty foods, of course)... and the other guy says
"I can actually HEAR you getting fatter!"
I think of this SO often as I watch others ingest the fatty stuff that I once used to eat also. It just seems to be a good line to think about (and mental image to conjur up) every time I wish I was eating something fatty... it pretty much changes my mind in a hurry!

I'd opt for the chicken salad and rice over a greasy cheeseburger any day!
Your cravings will get less, believe me! Keep at the healthy eating, you're doing well - and in time (probably not as long as you think..) you wont even feel ANY want to eat that crap at all.
(and also, not anything to do with anything, but I find oatmeal is delicious with some chocolate protein powder, splenda, cinnamon and egg whites all mixed in... its actually a breakfast I look forward to!!!!)

Are you getting paid to pick up everyone's food? If people asked me to go to Mc Donalds or wherever and I already have my own lunch/breakfast/whatever...They would be told a big fat no. Not in a rude way or anything, but if they didn't have you buying them their dirty deeds, maybe they would bring their own or spend an extra 10 minutes in the morning preparing a healthier meal....

UGH - I will tell you - I LOVE JUNK FOOD! Of course I don't love the way it makes me feel, but if I could get away with it, I would eat junk all the time. That being said, I very rarely eat junk. I have my weight, my cholesterol levels, and blood sugar to think about, as well as my overall sense of well being. Sometimes it's hard to remember that, especially when everyone you're around eats junk and tries to make you feel weird, or the waitress looks at you like you have three heads when you order with the required "Hold this, no that, dressing on the side, etc."
Hang in there! At least we have this place to vent our feelings!

So true... especially the part about it working 90% and not always! It's always a struggle, especially when we are constantly surrounded by crap foods. :P

I know how you feel. My husband eats pizza every day for lunch and he never gains a pound while I have my veggies and grilled fish. Sometimes I just wanna scream. The only thing that stops me from scarfing his food is thinking just how many hours of cardio I gotta do to get rid of the weight. I did learn that if the smells really get to me , I put a little vics under my nose.

That's a GREAT idea! Sometimes I can be strong and simply smell the yummyness and pretend I get to eat it... sometimes that's just too dangerous and from now on I will reach for the vicks!
