    Burpee Workout Frequency?

Can you do burpees everyday, or do you need to do them every other day so as to let your muscles recover?

    Thanks.

What are you doing besides burpees? You could do them everyday, and they're a great exercise, but why would you? What are your goals?

i used to walk 20-30 mins a day. but i dont do that as much ne more. i am just looking to maintain a decent fitness level. not looking to bulk or anything. just stay toned and lean and at my current weight of 160.

thanks for the links. i will use some of those exercises as well. but specifically, related to muscle recovery, do burpees require 48 hour muscle rest, like free weights do?

No you can recover from them much faster, they are a metabolic exercise not a strength exercise.... you can recover in 24 hours or less.

I just posted this and realized it applied to you too:

    Here are some ideas:

http://skievat.blogspot.com/ Eva T's blog, posts bodyweight only daily workouts. Well, they used to be daily anyhow, but you can look at the archives for a bunch of different workouts. She's no joke.

http://www.simplefit.org/bodyweight-exercises.html has a progressive bodyweight workout program. You can follow their program or integrate it into your own.

http://www.board.crossfit.com/showthread.php?t=21576 has a long list of bodyweight workouts, taken from Eva T's blog.

You can rotate them like so:

    Day 1: Workout
    Day 2: Workout
    Day 3: Workout
    Day 4: Rest

and just keep rotating like that.

So here's a 8 day rotation example, to get you started:

    Day 1:
    20 jumping jacks, 20 burpies, 20 air squats...3 rounds

    Day 2:
max rounds in 20 min of:
    3 pull-ups
    5 push-ups
    8 squats

    Day 3:
Run 1 mile and do 10 push-ups every 1 minute.

    Day 4:
    Rest

    Day 5:
    5 pushups, 5 squats, 5 sit-ups - 20 rounds

    Day 6:
    250 jumping jacks...for time.

    Day 7:
    Tabata squats and tabata pushups.
(Remember: Tabatas are 32 rounds of 20 sec. work/10 sec. rest. So 16 rounds of squats then 16 rounds of pushups in this scenario.)

    Day 8:
    Rest

And you'll do these workouts as fast as you can. Shoot for 20 minutes or less daily.

    Also:

Check out a guy named Brad Johnson over @ dragondoor.com. He authored a book called "Bodyweight Excercises for Extraordinary Strength". This guy does 1 finger / 1 armed L-chins!

See also Ross Enamait's website http://www.rosstraining.com/ (WFS) and YouTube videos for ideas.
