I was saying that as an exeple, why i think Meat diet is harder to do then meat and egg.
Meat and egg for me = changing meats lol.
This week breakfast varied always four eggs with either bacon, sausage, or steak
Lunch, again 4 eggs, with chicken or meatloaf or turkey
And diner i had 4 eggs again, and steak or fish
I need to be extremly focused mentally for the "steak and egg". And right now, I am not motivated like last summer. So meat and egg is what i'm doing and varying the meats. And since I eat out every meal, I dont cook, it seems to never get boring this way.

I am a noobie at this and just saw this thread the other day and really liked it. I started on the steak and eggs diet yesterday but have some questions. I do three meals a day and take a multi and fish oil. Any more supplements? I am on a budget.
I was wondering when preparing the meals what kind of seasonings you can use? or where I can get this info?
I read that you can go on this diet for as long as you want and carb up if you want. Is this really ok? Also, when you do carb up, is it just for one meal? When should you start thinking about carbing up when you 1st start this diet. Also, how much and when should you carb up in the long-term. Help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Yes eggs keep me fuller longer and going longer so thats why even when im sick of them at every meal, its still worth eating them.
It can be expensive...but i dont make 8$ an hour lol
This is where i went this weak
Breakfast -> ihop, dennys, steak and shake, la madelaine
Lunch -> went all week at tom thumb they have good ready to eat things, lots of choices of meat, and salad bar for the boiled eggs.
Diner -> I ate once home, raw eggs + steak. Hated having to cook and clean lol. I went to ihop, salt grass steak house, outback steak house, and texas land and catle.
Like i said in the other post, right now I'm not in the right mind set for this diet. So to make it easy i switch up a lot right now so i never get bored.

I hate to break it to you guys... but, he is exactly right. On a 275+ lb guy, this is very easily what is happening. I lose more than 10-12 in the first week of dropping carbs at anywhere above 215'ish.
There was no need for him to be an ass about it and belittle the guy's accomplishments, but, in the interest of the truth... 12-14+ was water.

Read the stickies, but the short version is that keto is a high fat, moderate protein, low carb diet. It's based on fresh meat, fish, chicken, whole eggs, lots of green veg, and some nuts, seeds, olive oil, cheese, butter and cream to fill the gaps. No sugar, flour, grains, milk, fruit, root veg and absolutely no processed food or junk carbs.
Although it sounds like a recipe for obesity leading to a heart attack, it produces consistent fat loss, and usually an improvement in blood pressure, cholesterol reading, triglycerides levels, and general health. Many people who are on medication for diabetics, high cholesterol, blood pressure, PCOS and other issues find that on keto, they improve to the point of being able to go off medication.Last edited by Eileen; 04-06-2008 at 12:24 PM.
65% fat, 30% protein, 5% carbs = keto.

thx cool i read some sticky threads too, i get the idea now.
But.. this Steak & Eggs version sounds like the best way to go.
questions:
- Do i have to prepare myself somehow before starting keto?
- I think i also read here that its ok to sometimes cheat with some keto food right?
- With S&E, do i still get to do the weekend carb thing?
- One of the sticky threads mentioned that i shouldnt have fats on work out days. is this true? because i work out every day.
- Should i change my work out routines? Some said cardio isnt needed anymore?
- And, dang ~12 eggs seems like alot. How do you eat these? I mean i usually eat my eggs with bread. But from what i understand im not alowed to eat bread?
thank youLast edited by Ugabuga; 04-06-2008 at 01:19 PM.
