freeweights vs. machines
why do ppl say freeweights are better than machines if they both have the same weight settings when u are doing ur reps?

Freeweights work the stabilizer muscles, whereas the machines don't. Also with the machine, there's only one ROM, whereas with freeweights you can use your own, natural ROM.

The human body is designed to move together (Compound Movements), each muscle is there to provide assistance work to other muscles. Muscles work better in cooperation rather than in isolation.

free weights tend to balance muscle size and strength more then machines.

you dont have to balance anything when ur using a machine.. like almost everyone else said it isolates that 1 muscle.. its whatever works best for you
