pretty decent though, might want to try keep your back tighter/expanding into your belt a bit more to keep from that little humping motion in your back but that's almost to be expected at near maximal weights.

nothing else constructive to add. Maybe next time you're gonna take a vid wear less baggy shorts just so its a bit easier to judge depth. Looked good though
Yeah I have to work on that, I still dont know how to do that. =[
same here man, it took me a while and a lot of practice to get it right...I still don't have it perfectly right but one thing that really helped was box squats.
also I know it sounds kinda weird but I practice a lot like just sitting on my couch with my hands out to my sides like I'm holding the giant cambered bar. you're still squatting a ****load more than I am though...imagine the numbers you'll be putting up when you squat with your hips
yea i agree with dynamik, there were some forward knee travel, probably because your quads are stronger. Try doing some warm ups with a box squat just to get the feel. For some reason, i naturally picked up sitting back and have close to no forward knee travel, but my bro has the same problem. Using the power squat machine and box squats to feel the motion of pushing his ass out, he got his from down pretty well in a couple of weeks.

My friends. My family. I ask of you one final time to gather before me.
Tonight we shall leave this earth as legends. Our only way to never die.
This will be our requiem.
In the company of death we walk side by side.
Cast your differences aside for the lives sacraficed.
I ask one final time to unite.
Earn the right to stand with pride.
We are in the company of death.
I think its a bit high...thats just my opinion, and I dont PLift competitively so my opinion may or may not have any value to you.
It isnt laughably high but to me CLEARLY above parallel. Anyone saying that is sunk/dunked really has a different idea of parallel than I do...perhaps ala the WPO standards or something.

BS, a good rule of thumb is to know your angle and judge accordingly. Use a full body perspective so you aren't just trying to judge what you see on the video. I don't know how to describe what I mean any better than that... If you saw that squat from the low front, or from the side you'd see it a couple of inches below parallel. To even look parallel from the angle we're seeing means it was easily a legal squat.

Good post and well described. That squat is to depth in ANY fed there is no question about it. Like you stated it is probably a couple inches below parallel.
Only tips I've got are to try to keep your torso tighter. Looks like you get a little lean going. I bet you got that 455 half way up and then dumped it forward right? Hit the ab work and good mornings hard and you are good to go.
if i saw you do that in my gym i would nod my head in approval. was it a PERFECT squat? no. was it a good squat? hell yeah.
If what I see does not amaze me, I am not looking hard enough.
The more you learn, the more you realize you don't know.

I still don't think you quite hit depth, but that doesn't matter, really. It's deep enough that no one's going to say that it's not doing you any good. Just make sure to leave no doubt in the minds of the judges, if you plan to compete. Take it out of their hands!

There would be no doubt. If he cut it 2" shorter there might. Like someone stated that would even be good in the IPF whose rules are almost too strict. To the OP like others have said you are a bit forward. I have this same problem when squatting raw and heavy. Power pants have really helped me out sitting back into the squat. Keep up the strong work.

Err...I'm an experienced lifter. I have doubt. It's silly and closed-minded to propose that there would be no doubt. I'm not the only person in the thread who thought it might be a touch high. I'm not getting on the guy, just trying to help. You seem to be the one who's refusing to allow that your opinion can be incorrect.
It's borderline, in my opinion. Again, it's not a big deal. It's a good squat. My comments in this thread may do nothing but make the OP aware that his depth could occasionally be questionable. Yours could make him confident that his squat depth is unquestionable, which could get him some red lights.

Depth looks good to me!
It didnt dump forward, it dumped backyard actually, Ill upload the video later on and edit it into this post.

I wasn't questioning your experience. That has nothing to do with you being wrong. I have a couple meets under my belt as well and a few more here real soon. It is not closed minded to state an absolute fact. His squat is not borderline. I hope I make him confident that his depth isn't borderline. As a matter of fact he is probably an inch or two too deep. There is a direct relationship between depth and strength. To suggest he is not deep enough is telling him to go deeper. That is bad advice for a power lifter. You go as deep as you need to go, which is a tad below parallel. He is a good 2" below. I am tired of people getting on here and criticizing things such as depth and pause length that have no clue.
Who gives a **** if it was slightly high, did you see how easy and fast it was? he could have buried it another 5 inches and it wouldnt of made a bit of difference to him.

I agree with that. With the ease and speed he did it I am surprised he dumped 455. Hell I go mid 500's raw and don't look near that good with 415, I don't look that good with 315. It just bothers me when people come on here and criticize for the sake of appearing to be an "expert." With that said he was great on depth. If I was calling his squat I would of had him an inch higher and it would have been at least two whites. OP good luck and you should get mid 400's easy.

NO. we need to analyze it to death and take screen shots and bust out some protractors and post a bunch of other videos of other people squatting better and get in a big fight and neg eachother and cry to the mods until someone gets banned. go to bed silly n00b. LOL

I think I speak for the OP when I say he asked for an honest appraisal of his form.
People gave it to him....it was a decent squat no doubt.....and we can both speculate on what WOULD HAVE happened if he buried it, fact is the squat was done approximately to parallel and had great speed for a 1RM...move on.
