Why does everyone hate gay people so much?

I've been reading thread after thread and post after post, and I cannot understand why there is so much hate...

So, all you guys and gals that have the biggest problem with gay people can you say why?

I have a lot of gay friends, and I support civil unions for gay couples and such, however, gay people still make me a little uncomfortable, especially when they talk about it. I don't know why they make me feel uncomfortable, they just do.

Crack is something that is physically addicting, and wrong. I believe that there is a signal or section of the brain that is genetically different (like comparing yourself at 3% bf to Brad Pitt 3% bf) that causes men to like men, men to like women, women to like women, and women to like men. Just a different DNA blue print.

A lot of people on these boards are religious, mostly Christian or Muslim, and they are taught by their holy books that being gay is wrong, that's probably why the hate levels are so high.

Mah gurlfriend is Muslim and she said the one's that have accepted their savior (Allah, Jesus, God, etc) then that being shouldn't discriminate regardless what you did in your life. Besides I know it only talks about gay bashing in the Bible early on, before Jesus' time so it should be irrelivent for Catholics and Christians anyway.

An abomination? Straight out of the third book of the Bible? OLD Testiment? Didn't the New Testiment give birth to an incredible being that sacrificed himself to forgive all men and women that give their lives devoting themselves to the Almighty God?

From what I was taught, and I'm sure you were, now stop me if you're not religious, but the simple "fact" that Jesus Christ died for "our" sins should give reason to believe that if these "gays" are saved and accepting Jesus Christ as their savior... Religion like welfare would be a great thing if practiced correctly. Unfortunatly, 90% of the people who practice it tend to fu*k it all up.
