Cardio...HOW MUCH & WHEN?
So how does everyone feel about cardio when losing FAT! Im so confused as to how much to do each day and whether or not I should be doing it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach! The one thing i find when doing cardio in a fasted state is that i dont put as much effort into my workouts, compared to having 50-60g oats 2 hours before my cardio session. Also at what HR should i be working out, i do have a bit of fat to lose and my muscles are coming along nicely, i just need to CUT it! i have been told by my trainer to do no less than 30-45 mins of cardio and no more than 2hrs a day! So my question is how much and how long should i be doing cardio! Thanks everyone x

Cardio requirements are all dependent upon goals, diet, and metabolism.
With a dialed in diet, "some people" can lose bodyfat with minimal amounts of cardio (30min) - while others don't need any. And, if a person is like me - an hour of cardio (or more) everyday seems to be a requirement for fat loss. A person will need to determine for themselves what is enough or too much. ~ Cardio is best done first thing in the morning, right after your workout, or on your off day.
I just took a look at your photo and, I honestly don't see any fat to lose. If you were to focus on building muscle, your body composition will change and possibly lower your bodyfat percentage in the process. Personally, that's the route that I would take if I had a thin frame. And, I would do 30minutes of cardio on off days or after a workout to maintain cardiovascular health.

You need to either update your picts or give us your real weight. Realistically you need to focus on getting and staying healthy for while and put your eating disorder far behind you. Trying to compete is very dangerous for you.

The competition "lifestyle" is often a way to mask or manage an eating disorder.
Most of us have ED tendencies or disorders.
Personally if you have an ED I do not think competing is something you should be focusing on. Therapy and support systems to overcome this is what you really need. This board isn't the best place for you, it only fosters your ED>

I am all for health...I'm recovered/recovering from an ED myself...it puts up red flags though when you're asking questions about eating 1200 calories, not wanting to eat fruit, doing tons of cardio, etc...

I couldn't have said it better and I completely agree.
Also competing when you're still not all that far removed from the eating disorder is a very bad idea. Although I'm currently in recovery, I know that training for a competition might be a setback at this point in time. It's not a good idea and that is why competing currently isn't a goal of mine. Stay healthy and on the right track.
