I'm still following Madcow's 5x5 so I'm doing a full body workout 3 times a week. I'm in the gym about an hour a day but something in my mind makes me feel guilty that I'm not working out longer, but I'm getting a good workout. How much time do you spend in the gym?

I know what you mean bro.
My workouts were abrrieviated drastically upon hiring a PT. One thing I've learned is that more does not mean better. Keep that in mind as you will start growing like a weed soon.
45 min to 1.5 hrs, depends on the cardio.Last edited by ArchAngel'73; 03-17-2008 at 02:10 PM.

Good afternoon all....
I end up at 45 minutues to 1 hour max.
I do 2 muscle groups a day 3-4 days a week depending on the stamina of this aging bod.
I have gotten quicker since I began (2 1/2 years ago) in changed plates and reducing 'rest' time between sets.
It seems to me that consensus for most (other than the competitors) is about an hour...give or take a few.

That sure seems to be working for you as your thighs are 2 inches larger than your chest....LMAO. AND your BF% is more than 10% by a good bit. As you are 18 and probably won't believe me until you are older I'll still tell you that you don't get rapid mass results that way.
For me 45 minutes tops...

Usually about 45 minutes for me because Im quick with it. I think it all depends on what you like...

Go until the gettin' is done.
I can't say every workout session is set in time. We pretty much go until we feel we have worked the target muscle group(s) effectively. Some days it's 45 mintues to an hour but then some days 2 hours later we are still at it.Lift big, eat large, get huge! Kaz quote

2 hours, 19 total exercises, 15 reps each, 3 sets each exercise broken into 2 circuits... 1 minute rests between exercises and sets twice a week back to back. The other two workouts are shorter. No cardio on lifting days.

~Kat~ I cardio for beer.

45-60 Minutes for the workout (depending on body part that day) then another 30 min cardio on Mon,Wed,Fri .... seems to work for me... glad to see I'm fitting the normal...sometimes I think I'm there too long..... but I just cant do everything I want in less time....especially when the gym is crowded.
