turning point in my life
started this whole process back in January, weighed in at a very crappy 363lbs and was just not happy with my life. I am going to be 25 on August 25th this year, and I thought to myself. I can be 25 and be depressed that I let 1/4 of a my life go by being fat, or I can kick my own ass and celebrate the start of a new life with a new body, new health, and new attitude about everything.
tomorrow will mark the 8 week point in this whole deal, and I feel pretty confident I can hit the 30 lbs lost mark and weigh in at 333 lbs
anyway, just wanted to get a log started, I'll be sure to keep this log updated as well as my Bodyspace on at least a weekly basis.

Another Washingtonian and a Husky! I go to WWU up in Bellingham and I'll be graduating this summer. But I'm from Federal Way,
Also, your birthday is only two days before mine and we'll both be 25 this year. Congrats man.
Good job on finaly making the decision to gain back control of your life. It's the best choice you'll ever make. It only gets better from here.

Thanks guys
I weighed in this morning at 334, 1 pound short of 30 lbs, but losing 5 lbs in one week is big time so I am definitely happy
I just switched to 4 day splits this week and today was the final day before a 3 day weight lifting rest. My upper body really took a beating with the added attention and I feel great.
One of my milestone goals is to weigh 325 by the time spring quarter starts (March 31st)
Can I lose 9 lbs in 2 weeks? we'll see

At your weight, I think you can do 9 pounds in two weeks. It's going to be tough and you're gonna have to work really hard, but certainly not impossibe.
Keep us posted.
I find it helpful to post my food log and workout routine so I can hold myself accountable for my actions for the day. It might work for you.
Check out www.fitday.com for a good website for logging what you eat.

nah, i dont really need a food log
i dont snack at all, if i do get really hungry in between meals ill just eat a couple slices of turkey or somin, but thats about it
i eat the exact same thing for breakfast (raisin bran with fat free milk) every day, and now that subway has 5 dollar footlong subs, im sure ill be eating there everyday for lunch haha (footlong turkey with cheese on wheat, no mayo, honey mustard, all veggies except green peppers, always gotta have the jalepenos though).
then for dinner 80% of the time I'll just whip up a turkey or tuna sandwich on whole wheat bread, if i feel like cooking usually teryaki chicken and rice with veggies or chicken pasta or something like that
Honestly i've never had much of a problem with over-eating, it's always been that when i did eat, i would eat garbage. I used to eat fast food so damn much, i remember there would be weeks where I would eat fast junk food like 8-10 times. Since i've started this I've only had fast food like 3 times in the past 8 weeks, and the last time was about 2 weeks ago so hopefully i've kicked that habit all together.
once or twice a week I will go out for a "cheat" meal, usually something like red robin and get a burger and fries or hit up a bar and grab some hot wings
right now my hardest thing is getting in all my water. some days i can get a whole bunch in through out the day, some days the only water i drink is what i chug right after working out, i need to get more constant on that.
right now I have a lot of motivation in my life to see this one through

Just try to make a little improvement each day. It's hard to do a complete 180 overnight. Just try to drink an extra few ounces each day and before you know it, you'll be drinking more than enough. I've found that for water, I always carry a water bottle of some kind around with me or keep a glass near me when I'm at the computer.
Always sipping on something like that helps me a lot.

congrats on deciding to turn your life around and the current weight loss. keep it up and im sure youll reach all your goals! As for water, have a glass every hour, its much easier to hit your target if you spread it out throughout the whole day.

thanks all, one of the reasons i got involved on here was to hopefully motivate others and let them know that it is possible to lose weight if you really believe in yourself and your abilities
speaking of which, jumped on the scale this morning, i have officially reached 325 lbs!!!
this was my first MAJOR goal weight as spring quarter starts next week, i am definitely heading to class next week with a massive boost of confidence
PS - I've really been working hard to get in all my water this past week and I think it made a huge difference

Congrats on all the weight loss so far, looks like you and I are right around the same mark right now (around 325) and started off sort-of close off (350 for me).

You carry it well, at least. I would have pegged you 25 pounds lighter.
Keep after it, don't give up, the weight comes off, albeit slowly at times...

what the heck? I mean i know I used to do cardio 6 days a week, and now i only do it 3-4 jogging outside, but that shouldn't make that much of a difference?
maybe with the lack of cardio my body is retaining more of my muscle growth or somin, i have noticed more growth/definition in my arms/legs/shoulders the last couple weeks

At your current stats, it is probably impossible for you to do too much cardio...
On the other hand, it's very easy not to do enough.

my diet has been pretty eratic this past month, so has my working out, this past week i really locked it down though and I think im back on track for a solid May
Who knows, I might get out of the 300s forever in a couple weeks, haven't been below 300 lbs in probably 6 years
