BF% went down, but I gained weight...

So I weighed myself last night on this fancy scale that tells you your weight, BF%, water intake, and it goes by height, activity level, and age. It's a really acurate, expensive scale the trainers at my gym use, so I trust it. Anyways, it told me my BF% was 19.1, which is awesome! I started out at close to 34% May of last year. SO....My weight went up quite a few lbs, not just two or three like I'd expect from gaining muscle... So, what do you all think I gained- water weight, muscle, or fat? I don't know, I'm so confused. But I am totally happy with my BF%.

You cant really rely on BF scales as they are mostly rubbish, its better to go by the mirror and scale as a guideline. But yeah if you look leaner, and your weight's gone up than that is a wonderful achievement

Personally I feel that the scales accuracy decreases as the day goes on, because you are eating and drinking. That's why most people recommend checking yourself in the morning post-restroom pitstop.

While I agree scales aren't the best for accurate measurements, they are useful for detecting patterns of change over a timespan.

If the BF went down, it's muscle and water.
