Warm Up Sets!!!!

Since I have been lifting ,when I train Chest, back, shoulder and legs.I do two warm up sets and then go right into my heavy sets.I have been told a few times that I should do more warm up sets.My point is ,if I have been training like this for over 21 yrs,my body doesn`t know it needs more warm up sets.

Compared to others, my warm-up sets are minimal as well, depending on if I'm hitting a tight area, etc. However as long as the body temperature is raised to the beginning of a light sweat, it's game time! I love dynamic "limbering" type movements to get the joints ready for action as well. But no use making the warm up a workout in itself.

I do a ton of warm-up sets for the following reasons:
I'm old-ish.
I started lifting late in life so my tendons aren't accustomed to the abuse that I'm suddenly asking them to endure.
I usually do no cardio at the gym before lifting.

For example, my squat warm-up might look like this:

45x5,5 (or just 10 straight)
95x5 (or maybe 10)
135x5
185x5
225x5
275x5

Then finaly, my working sets...
295xWhatever

So, I end up doing 35-40 warm-up reps just to squeeze out a half-dozen or so working reps.

There is another thread that's only a day or two old on warming up. It doesn't have 4 exclamation marks, but I'm sure you can find it.

EDIT: Here it is from the 10th :http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...hp?t=106390051
