How long do you bake a boneless chicken breast?

    Hey guys!
How long do you bake a boneless chicken and at what temp? My George Foreman grill broke so I am going to have to bake my chicken for a while.

    Thanks for the help!

depends on the size. for your avg 4-5oz breast i'd set the oven somewhere around 400-425 and bake it for 15-20 mins...nothing's worse than an over cooked chicken boob

I just started baking chicken too.. for one breast I do 375 for 45 mins.. doesn't over cook it and it's still nice and juicy. That's without pre-heating, i.e I throw the chicken in, turn the oven on and set the timer all at the same time.

Just remember to cut the chicken open the first couple of times before you get used to the cooking times and your oven and all... if it bleeds pink keep it in the oven for a little longer, if it bleeds clear then you're good.

20 min at 400 and like the guys said, just make sure to cut it before to make sure it is cooked through. You should try to use the oven more often, keeps the chicken more moist.

If I bake it in the oven I do it for 30 minutes. I tend to butterfly it down the middle so that it cooks better - I don't like it when it's too juicy and chewy.

20 minutes at 400 F is what is on the Shake n Bake package, and always came out nice. Good rule of thumb.

Also, I imagine the OP was upped his chicken breast game in the 11 years since this thread was started, so hopefully he'll chime in and drop some knowledge bombs for us!
