sending myself crazy!!!
Hello..!
Basically, just lately at work I feel like I have a ton of energy to burn, but as i'm working 9 to 5 at a desk.. its kinda hard for me to burn it!
It really SUCKS.
I feel really irritable and restless, and then come 2pm I crash and feel sluggish and tired and it's driving me crazy. I spend the morning pumped and in the mindset that I'll go home and get to the gym, but come that time I feel so drained.. and I haven't even moved all day!
Obviously this is my problem. I get an hour lunch break, and work on a cliff so thats a good excuse to get out and do a bit of cardio for an hour.. except at the moment we have 70-80 mph winds, and its raining like crazy. Not pleasant to be out in! So... anyone have any advice for me? An office based work out or something that I could do for an hour or so?
Any tips would be great.. although I have very limited space. I couldn't swing a cat in here. I'm not tooooo worried about looking stupid though, I mean i'm sure everyone thinks I'm crazy anyway from my "weird" eating habits. Any suggestions? I'm determined to get to the gym tonight, even though its the last thing I feel like doing right now. (although, I think its more my brain thats tired, not my body)
ARGH! HELP!
ALSO: I'd ideally eventually get myself a more active job, but its not an option right now as I'm having to pay rent/credit card and stuff, and need the security my current job provides.
what would grok do?..
Currently: 5x5 stronglifts / 2-3 x per week sprints/crossfit

When I start getting tired around the office, I often drop down and do a few push ups, crunches, or jumping jacks. Sounds a little silly but it usually gets the blood pumpping and the endorfens cranked up. (in other words I get a "second" wind. Hope that this helps, try it.....Johnny

If you're a morning person, work out before work. If not, suck it up and go after work. No excuses. What are you eating throughout the day?

I agree with Amanda, if you can work out in the morning that would be best. Otherwise, let it go and wait for better weather.

I work out for around 30 minutes in the morning, using free weights. I can't get to the gym in the AM as it doesn't open in time for me to fit it in with getting to work... which I walk to every morning - 3 miles.
Argh, I dunno.
Think i'm just having a bad week or something.

maybe have a half an hour nap inbetween the time u get home from work, and the time u go to the gym. wake up, you'll feel brand new, eat, go gym, come back and eat again.

A 3 mile walk to is good cardio and you're getting some weight training in. It's not all bad.
And, if it's just a bad week, it'll be over soon. Hang in there.

Hey guys, thanks for your replies.
I probably should drink less coffee.. hah.
Thanks Mindi! if I keep telling myself I'm cool maybe one day I will be.. unfortunately my dorkiness overrides any potential cool I have going on right now
the nap idea is good I think, I'll give that a go..
I decided to opt for half hour at the gym this morning, instead of my 3 mile walk to work - i had to get the bus instead due to time restrictions, but I had a good cardio session and worked myself harder than I would walking the 3 miles so I'm feeling all nice and refreshed - and I still get to walk 3 miles home so its not like I'm stagnating haha.
Thanks again everyone, all advice taken on board!

... I normally have a pretty active job, especially around the holidays and what not... but I have noticed that on an especially slow day, or on my day off, I sometimes have less energy. I think I'm the type of person that can keep going so long as I am going, but once I slow down, I want to drop... if that makes sense.
Like with my morning cardio... a lot of times, I just -really- don't want to do it, and sometimes don't feel like I have energy. Most of the time, though, once I start to do it, I get going and do fine (and if I can't seem to find the energy, I go back to sleep and do it some other time or the next day).

that was me this morning, but I forced myself to get my ass into the gym, and I walked out feeling SO good about myself.
it all pays.

It definitely does.... Actually, I feel that way right now, lol. I really need to stop hanging out here when I am supposed to be working out.
Haha, upper day.... better get to it!
