Post Workout
Ok for the last day and a half i have been research reading and racking my brain to come up with a good post work formula or to find a post work out supplement
So i was wondering what does everyone reccommend and i don't need the break down of how many carbs and proteins i should be eating cause i already know that i want to know what does everyone recommend taking or mixing together. thank you,.

What I do is usually take a whey shake asap after my work out, and eat something like pasta an hour later.

post workout?
EAT!
why screw around with shakes and supplements etc...?
after working out i eat heartily; usually a massive spinach omelette and 3 pieces of whole grain bread!
post workout is the time to refuel and start recovery for the next workout!
eat and get strong!

whole foods are definitely the way to go for a meal after the workout, but if you're really looking for a quality shake you should consider Torrent and Golden Finish. two of the best postworkout shakes imo.
whole foods are always better than shakes though...

let me add Myozene and relentless to the formula,
ill 2nd eating.. ive been eating 2 cups of cereal mixed with yogurt and whey, or if I dont have any cereal ill make 1 cup of dry oats or so and mix with some whey and yogurt to make it really thick.
Most studies you see done suggest very simple carbs, most of these people were also fasted and had no proper pre-workout nutrition.
If you have had some proper pre-worout nutrition then focus on restoring your MUSCLE GLYCOGEN, fruits will restore liver glycogen so keep them to a minimum post-workout and focus on getting some other carb sources in your body.. the choices will vary to you.. find what works best and stick with it

THanks for the replies. I was wondering though aren't you supposed to eat simple carbs and protein which if you take them in shake forms with digest the fastest isn't that what you need after a workout.

Its hard to eat a meal after a hard workout such as a leg one,
I mix 1g of whey protein per kg of bodyweight, because after training your body can absorb 1g of protein per kg of bodyweight, also add around 20g of simple sugars such as glucose to replemish muscle glycogen, i also take 15g of glutamine and some olive oil for greater protein absorbtion.
This needs to be done withing 45 mins of training as this is the time in which they call "Window of opperturnity", and the reason many bodybuilders use whey is because it gets absorbed staright away...
I then eat around an hour after my shake..

There's no telling how much protein the body can absorb at any given time...You seem to be sure the body is able to absorb 1gram and 1 gram only per LB of BW after training...
Unless you're a 100 pounder guy,20 grams of Simple carbs it's not gonna do much to replenish glycogen stores...Olive Oil does not make a greater absorbtion of protein,it actually delays it as it an fat source...
The shake does not need to be done withing 45 minutes,"Window of Opportunity" is very, very Overrated IMO...Actually your metabolism gets elevated throught some hours after training not only 45 minutes...

you are calling someone out who is stepping on stage in about a week retarted? have you ever seen this guys pictures and his body composure?
and what you READ from certain books are all on different subjects..
so depending on his pre-workout meal and his diet the need for all simple carbs post workout may not be ideal. sure it may help in transporting the amino acids and glycogen to the cells faster, but the need of dextrose/malto is totally unnecessary with proper pre-workout nutrition
i would go for a blend and see how it works like oats/cereal or some white rice/brown rice and see what works best and track it for a week or two.
It wont hurt to find what works best for this individual
