Anyone here also on clubwrx.net or nasioc.com?
Whats up fellow wrx owners or possibly Sti drivers. Just checkin to see how many of my misc family rock the AWD.
Post your handle if you feel like it.
If you want what you drive/mods.
I own an 02 wrx wagon debadged, de-roofrailed. lightened flywheel.
Soon to be installed de-catted up-pipe and turboxs TBE fully de-catted.

I'm on the lookout for a reasonably priced STI. It seems the most reasonable deals come from private sellers rather than established dealers

Indeed I think they do. Plus you can talk to a private seller and ask what mods have been done and know from talking how the car was treated. When a car is sold back to the dealer you have no idea what it has been thru.

What Evo do you own? How do you like it? How is the average evo owners attitude toward Sti/wrx/lancer drivers?

Sorry I'm unaware what's a ralliart? I've honestly never heard of it.

I'm not saying the WRX>all but the WRX has sum trickery up its sleeve.

Ya I know. This was the first year I've driven with a full license, so it's the first year experiencing snow.
The AWD is great in the summer, and AMAZING in the winter. Both cars have nice snow tires, and I can drive around no problem vs my friends with ****ty all season on FWD that can't go anywhere.
Coupled with the fact that 'drifting' in the snow with a manual AWD is tons of fun.
I use drifting loosely because I only do it around courts, large parking lots, etc. Don't trust myself with someone else's car on the roads.
(And no e-brake 'drifting'. That's lame.)

Lol the snow+awd is even better when a few of your friends who are "American Muscle Only" have their RWD cars out and can't get up a hill so you just drive nice and slow past em wave. Then have to help them push their car to get unstuck.

We already had to do that a few times. My neighbor owns a minivan and a BMW RWD.
He's too manly to drive the minivan even in the snow so he attempts to drive out with the BMW...never works well.
Just fishtails down the road all the time.
One of my friends owns a old mustang, and he doesn't even bother driving it during the winter...what's the point?

Subarus are gaining popularity here, and the AWD is just getting stronger as we've had a bad winter.
We're more a bunch of SUV drivers here ( ) but subies are making their way in, I've been seeing more and more on the streets. One STI in the town I'm from too. (offskirts of Toronto).
Here's a pic of outside my window, I just took it (I live on a street that you could fit 3-4 cars beside eachother to give reference to the width, hard to tell since it's unplowed). I'd get a better one (especially the MASSIVE snow pile from shoveling) but it's too cold out

[img][/img]
Edit: Let me rehost, they're not showing up.

This is generally what we've been living in since november:
It got warm about a week ago and it all melted, so this is only the last snowfall and a bit.
Sorry for the big pics. Don't quote the full pictures

That doesn't look that bad. But I imagine it could get really bad realy quick up there. Here in Nebraska we are just getting all the snow to melt had a few 60 degree F days then BOOM Protein everywhere. Another inch and a half of snow. Just glad I didn't put my spring/summer tire set up on yet.

That's post plow
If I had known pictures were wanted, I would have taken them when I woke up.
But ya, imagining it snowing every other day and trying to drive non-AWD now just seems dumb.
Manual is good too. 2nd gear starts are pretty helpful when it turns to ice.
Edit: There's a sidewalk in the second picture near the bottom that was completely clear yesterday to give an indication of how the street was earlier.

I could see where AWD would be a benefit. Snow is cool for the like the first 2 weeks then it just gets annoying and I want it gone. Fall is where its at cool weather driving for the win. Keeps intake temps low and theres no bugs to cover the front of your car.
