    advice with braces

    so i just got braces on and my dentist says to not really eat big chunks of steak or chicken, so thats kind of a problem with my growth, also my teeth are in pain right now when i even eat noodles like top o roman, or even hamburger helper... any tips on foods that are good but not so hard even though none of these are hard foods?

    yeah its really bad at first, and when you get them tightened, but it will go away.. maybe have smoothies in the meantime, yogourt bananas, some whey oats etc....

    Cottage Cheese was easy to eat. Berries, puree soup, chili, yogurt, shakes, eggs, peanut butter and mashed sweet potatoes should be easy.

    ok, yea ive just been trying to swallow everything without chewing, but hoipefully it stops hurting as bad i dont mind but its more annoying than anything, i feel like those people that are forced on a diet lol.

    i drank protein shakes with bananas and peanut butter and i ate cottage cheese and oats and drank lots of milk. first five or six times you get them adjusted they will hurt like a mother but then they won't even hurt any more. i get my braces off in about a month

    take a screw driver and pluck them off.. haha jk, when i had them and they were just tightened, i hated the pain, but i would still chew slowly and get used to the pain, i noticed i could chew without pain alot sooner. thats how i did it though, maybe its not the best idea for everyone

    The pain goes away. After like a week, or two...or three...than you dont listen. Start eating everything from cookies, to hard **** like brocolli and colliflower...which WILL brake your braces one day lol. Try explaining that to your ortho.

    Other than living with it till your teeth are alligned, stick with supplements to replenish and subsitute the lack of [insert nutrient]. But dont rely too much...

    i remember when i had them last year, ull eventually get used to the pain and it fades away, and takes from few days to a week or 2 to get the pain go away; drink protein shakes or soup, ex. chunky noodle soup

    the pain will go away in a few days then you will be able to eat chicken and steak and basically whatever you want. i even had beef jerkey and gummy bears and it never broke my brackets. just get a weight gainer or make your own to get in the cals when your teeth are sore. just make sure to brush 2 or 3 times a day and always chew sugar free gum, even if the dendist says not to, it helps keep your teeth clean.

    the first 4 days i got mine i was pretty much just eating like protein shakes, milk, cottage cheese, scrambled eggs to get my protein and then like yogurt, chicken broth and ice cream

    I had the same problem. It lasts a week and its dreadful.

    Crack an egg on your ramen, and drink alot of protein shakes, try adding peanut butter and fruits in your shake.

    yeah first weeks gonna suck ass, dont eat chewy foods or gummy foods. i ate alot of soup when i first got mine, also, when they do the tightenings, itll hurt like when u first got em. im pumpd, mine are coming off soon, like 2-3 weeks and im good

    You can still eat meat, just not right after they adjust them and tighten them because it hurts. Other than that you should be fine.
