    Cardio after lifting, whey before the cardio?

    Couldnt find something this specific on search, but if you were to take a pre workout, lift for about 1.5hrs, then plan to do 20-40 of cardio after, would you take your protein after the cardio or before the cardio?


    Also, I realize creatine is made naturally, but after stopping supplementation, how long before its out of your system? Pharmacology would say the halflife in the body is 3 hours, so I'm assuming within a day, correct?

    I would just take it after cardio. See what works for you, but I'd be afraid of it not settling very well while running.

    Whenever you need to have protein in your body, that post workout is a myth "it may be" a PWO window but i wont make you bigger and stronger, just take it as a replacement and a help to reach your daily protein (1gr of Protein x 1 LB)

    That POSTWORKOUT WINDOW IS A LIE!

    Also creatine is natural (aswell protein powders that come from whey) so if you eat atleast a steak or meat daily you will have a LITTLE creatine in your body

    That half-life is just the concentration on the blood / interstitial tissue. Muscle creatine will remain elevated for at least 4 weeks.

    I personally would do protein after cardio because I don't like to have food in my stomach when I run. I'm guessing your main concern is with the so called "anabolic window" and if it is, you don't have to worry. If such a window exists, it is on the order of hours not minutes.

    Figure out what timing works best for you and go with that. It won't make a difference in terms of size or strength gains.

    Why are you lifting for 1.5 hours? Even on my biggest lifting days I'm at most in there for 45min.

    I regularly run 4-6 miles after every lifting session and wait to eat until I get home. I can't even imagine taking whey before I run.

    same here, 45-60 mins of heavy lifting has me beat and out of energy, couldn't imagine going for 1h30

    Meh i lift for almost 90 minutes sometimes, then cardio for another 20 or so. As long as i eat plenty and get good sleep i'm good to go the next day. During a deficit i'd never go that hard or long.

    I lift 45 min to hour then drink shake. Chill for awhile then do my cardio (LISS)

    I dont have to worry about HIIT cardio because I do it 2x a week in football running

    I would say I train fasted. About an hour workout and 30 mins cardio and I do fine. The shake for me is post everything,.
    If you not feeling the burn your not pushing hard enough.
