Legs getting pumped?

Ok this is an open question:

When training with weights for my legs I am getting minimal pump. However when I am on my bike, I get loads of pump, especially from short intense bursts in both quads, hams and shins (soleus I think)

I would have thought that the intensity would have been higher lifting plates rather than pushing my bike? Any answers? Because naturally I dont wnat to do cardio on the bike by sprinting for 45-60mins!

Thanks

A pump is blood rushing to the muscle body.
Prolonged work like biking requires excessive amounts of blood distribution.

Some tips on improving this with legs:

1. Try higher repetitions.
2. Improve your mind-muscle connection.
3. Be sure not to be carb-depleted.

i have the same issues as the op,

i do get slightly better pumps on my legs than before with this regimen.

- drink plenty of water(a must regardless
- carb up more than usual(legs are your largest muscle group)
- volume training(higher repetitions)
- squeeze set(on your last set of a given exercise, drop the weight, like a drop set)

for carbs i take oats with milk 45m - 1 hour before i work out.
