    starting home gym

would I be ok with an incline-decline bench w/leg attachements a set of dumbells and an olympic bar w/ weights for squats and deadlifts?

The only thing I think i'd be missing is a lat machine but i'm sure i can make a ghetto pull up bar.

    Is there anything else missing?

Yes you would. Not sure how you'd do squats without a rack or something with uprights though. Typically an FID bench, power rack, and some weights would be the best bet.

Yes, you can lift the bar up over your head to do squats, but it severely limits the amount of weight you can do. You can't squat more than you can press overhead. OR you can just front squat it, but again you're limited by how much you can power clean. AND you're then at risk of injuring your back, since your power clean technique probably wouldn't be the best without coaching etc.

If you're strapped for cash but handy I would try buying 4x4s, notching the tops, putting them in buckets and pouring cement into the buckets. Where there's a will there's a way. A lot of people make these. Check out the Crossfit forums.

Also, look at the bottom of this page:
    http://www.davedraper.com/pmwiki/pmw...EquipmentIdeas

You can also buy one of those "all in one" benches with the uprights and the leg attachment, and lift the bar out on your shoulders that way. I did that for awhile, but I had to modify the bench a bit...

But really, a power rack is best.
