    How is too much sleep bad for you?

    Just wondering how it harms your bodybuilding progress, I guess to much of anything is bad, like to hear the logic behind the theory that more then 10 hours of sleep is harmful.

    I doubt too much sleep will hinder gains you might make. Terell Davis I read, sleeps up to 14 hours a day.

    14 hours??? That would be awesome! I want to start averaging 12 hours this summer and do Arnold's Level 1 program for the whole summer. I figure I can't overtrain if I sleep that much and eat a ****load of protein!

    Wouldn't it mess up your sleeping pattern oversleeping? Plus you wouldn't be eating for 12 hours straight.. I guess you could wake up for 10 minute sthough and have a feed though.

    just make sure when you sleep, you sleep hard. Don't have half awake half asleep periods, because you will end up lethargic. Either be asleep or be awake.

    Do sleep long, but keep in mind that if you sleep for 10 hours you are going to have some catabolic hormones flying around. Maybe try napping in the day? or feeding at night? - my couzin says he has been told not to do this by his doctor though, as it can be bad for the stomach.

    It's not a good idea to wake up in the middle of the night to eat, it'll just screw you over in the long run.
