Kiss My HyperMass: Project Hyde - A log by dinoiii
THIS TIME, THERE WILL BE NO ANTIDOTE!
Author’s Note: While I am certain you are familiar with the story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde or minimally the premise. I recently, got a hold of the story and found it a bit scrambled, however, reading between the lines, has let the true story emerge. Please watch as it is translated below…
Introduction
This is the story of a tortured struggle of a repressed doctor, horrified at the demon I am about to unleash – solely guilty of noting that I would enjoy Hyde’s unrestrained life. I am concerned that I may not be able to control the transformation to follow.
My experiments will continue and one day when you’re all still laughing, clinging desperately to your old ways…you’ll find that Anabolic Xtreme has helped me create a new man!
I’d like you to meet my alpha male: Hyde.
Permit me to quote the words of a Persian poet:
First, I was a mineral
Then, vegetable
Then, animal
At last, I’ve finally become man
What I shall be next…you cannot imagine!
I wasted no time to make use of my Ledger…
Ledger Entry – Jan 3, 2007
I received the products from Dr.D’s laboratory today; a day earlier than anticipated. It will all be tested with the utmost scrutiny in 5 days.
I knew the risks were potentially great -or- a glorious discovery from a good company was now within my grasp.
There will be no antidote…hopefully only full transformation. What’s the worst that could happen? The emergence of primal man, so exhilaratingly free.

Subject’s Tale of the Tape
Age: 29
Sex: I happily possess a Y chromosome!
Height: 5’9” (per NY state Driver’s License)
Weight: currently...this AM: 214 pounds, 8.7% BF verified through Hydrostatics, Biolectrical Impedence, and Caliper average (BF % was last measured on January 7, 2007)
Bodytype: I hate this question. I would technically be considered an endomorph...but I think the body typing is a rationalization....see BF% above...it always hasn't been this way
Training
Training experience: Quick Hits: Going on 16 years; Any/All programs you can think of. Started at 300+ pounds – dropped to 141 (low) before pushing back up to competition weight in 2000, which sat at about a 10-20 pound heavier weight tally than I am now. More information can be observed in a thread in entitled “Getting Inside the Mind of Dinoiii” here: Getting Inside the Mind of Dinoiii
Cardio Schedule/Protocol: DON’T DO IT!!! DON’T THINK IT IS NEEDED!!! (See Thread entitled Weight Lifting Fat Burning" @ Anti-Cardio Slant ) My information comes in from post #20 on the second page in that thread and on...check it out so we understand each other fully, and you can also see some of the principles I believe in and training methodology I have developed over the course of my 15 years doing this and why...
Prior to beginning this log, I was partaking in a trial of Controlled Labs’ Yellow nEuphoria, which can be found at the following address: Dinoiii’s Bringin’ Sexy Back: A Yellow nEuphoria (B)log
I include it here solely for weight comparisons for major lifts and an allowance to see where I have come from as I am very well aware of the difference in types of products these are.
Supplements
Current supplements:
- Anabolic Xtreme Mass Fx
- Anabolic Xtreme Hyperdrol
- My own Post-Workout Formula (unfortunately, I cannot offer the exact ingredients on a public forum ... I am certain you can appreciate my rationale here)
- VPX Zero Carb (protein powder – chocolate is da bomb when mixed with various oils)
- VPX CMZ MultiMineral
- ACES (generic verified through consumerlabs.com)
- B Vitamin (without niacin)
- Niacin once per day
- Glucose Disposable Cocktail (DS Glucophase XR + Cinnamon Extract)
Past supplements:
- More than I care to admit. Over the course of the last 15+ years, I have likely surpassed most people that take these things. There are pros and cons and biases that evolve out of such a role. For one, I have become a bit savvier in the selection process and do NOT make my protocols supplement-laiden, allowing nothing but a sincere challenge to discern if there is any effect from the product in question.

GOALS
Short Term Goal:
- I am NOT in need of being a "mass monster" (no, this is NOT necessarily a contraindication with the product’s suggestion)…in fact prefer to look bigger with lowest possible bodyfat percentage YEAR ROUND...obviously avoiding any kind of lipodystrophic state or what have you....bodyfat fluctuates from lower range of 4-5% up to about 9-11% (but I have not really been above 9 for like the last I don't know 5-6 years...)....however, a bit of a boost to my 6am workouts and lift numbers are what I might look for in using a product of this nature for a four-week time frame.
Long Term Goal:
- hehe, being as close to lipodystrophic as possible without deleterious consequence....what could realistically be considered "fat free" and without drugs, et al btw....but really, long-term I will never be satisfied...not sure you can be and if you ever hear someone suggest it...they're flat out lying...I will always welcome new muscle and less fat...I am always realistic with expectations, however...on a personal note...if someone ever hears me suggest I am content and that I cannot strip a little more fat and/or add a little more muscle...I already have the gun loaded...please put me out of my misery
Our Journey for this log
Week 1: Increased Workout Intensity / Recovery Potential
Weeks 2 + 3: Increased Muscle Pumps + Hardness
Week 4: Transformation Complete – Pro-anabolic optimizer stimulating lean muscle mass + strength gains
WEEK 1: Increased Workout Intensity / Recovery Potential
Day 1 (Jan 8, 2007):
Supplement Time: 4 times per day as suggested above (verified my suggestion with Dr.D prior to beginning the trial to make certain I was able to give them a log assessing appropriate protocol)
Dose Used: * Per product labels
Supplement Effects:
Subjective – The subjective components' effects have been extracted from the Anabolic Xtreme’s write-ups on both products. All parameters being “claimed” will be assessed on subjective rating scale.
PLEASE NOTE THAT I WILL BEGIN THESE EVALUATIONS ON THURSDAY of WEEK 1, because I do NOT want the reader to take the absence of any of the items to mean it is a bad product when it likely has simply not taken effect at this point.
(1) Alpha Male mentality
(2) Aggression
(3) Pumps
(4) Strength
(5) Joint/Tendon/Bone Health
(6) Libido
(7) Body Composition perception
Dinoiii's Rating Scale KEY:
* Insignificant Effect
** Slight Effect, Still Insignificant
*** Average Effect
**** Statistically Significant Effect
***** Dinoiii's Praise (statistical significance doesn't describe this!)
The Alpha Male (Hyde) Experience:
* Dinoiii’s Note: I will write down my experience with the product over the course of the day in what I note a “ ledger” to keep with the Hyde theme offering a very subjective interpretation of effects highlighted. These are direct notes I have jotted down signifying my personal experience in my own log.
Keep in mind that I have altered them to meet the language used in Stevenson’s book, so if you ever have questions about the jibberish in them, please ask me to translate in a post below.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Objective –
(1) Blood Pressure
* measured via automated cuff; last calibrated on Jan 7, 2007
Baseline: 110-120/60-80
Before Supplement (this AM): 116/68
Noon Reading: 118/78
6:00pm Reading: 122/74
(2) Labs offered below // rationale: evaluation for side effect potential, and various hormonal markers, including SHBG.
------------------------------------------
Today’s Workout Notes:
Chest Notes: While I cannot unfortunately list direct sets/reps info (due to the training modality’s inclusion in a forthcoming book), I can offer up bigger lifts and any effect seen as well as some EMG reports throughout.
Major Lifts ONLY
Flat Chest Press: Max Lift w/ reps today: 315 pounds x 9 reps (since shoulder injury in April 2005, this has been my max however – prior to that time, I had gone up to 450 x 3 clean reps as a max lift) – there was NO +/- in weight today vs. last workout. Unfortunately, my shoulder is a limiting factor here – one that I am much aware of … As I attempt certain lifts (like pressing moves, incline + flat only), I cannot progress past a certain point. The pain becomes unbearable at that time and I am already lifting through it (past about 250 pounds is where the pain sets in).
Incline Dumbbell Chest Press: Max Lift w/ reps today: 110 pounds x 12 reps. Please Note that I again was limited by pain on this movement.
* You may see me periodically switch Flat chest bb w/ db and incline db with bb throughout log*
--------------------------------------------
Today’s Diet Notes:
Again, same issue with the diet notes, I cannot fully disclose meal for meal what I am trying out due to a future book (it is likely good to see I am in effect practicing what I preach though – Mezzogal can once again chime in to concur here) though I have offered a great outline up in the Subject Analysis section above.
Caloric Intake remained the same as baseline: 4200 calories divided over 9 meals, this is one meal more than my previous log
Macronutrient Notes: I cycle macros, today was low-carb…I don’t tend to get carb cravings as I am VERY self-disciplined; however, could have attributed general full feeling all day to some aid from supplement…usually I can see an episode of ravaging hunger sneak in for at least a meal or two. Some find it interesting that I am at such a high caloric intake with LOW carbohydrate, this doesn’t mean that I am ingesting all the fats in sight; it is a very structured ratio of mono-: poly-unsaturates: saturates.
BASELINE LAB TEST RESULTS
* Initial intentions of labs were to run them on the 6th, however, I was unable to make it to the lab and had to wait to get them drawn. There are pros and cons to this noted throughout this report. All values are not in yet as some, by the nature of the test take longer to report on than others.
Date Run: 1/8/07
Date Reported: 1/9/07
COMPLETE METABOLIC PANEL (CMP)
General Use: Evaluation of electrolyte abnormalities, blood glucose fluctuation, as well as incorporated liver function. Due to inclusion of the later values, it offers a superior overall look when considering it versus a basic metabolic profile/panel (BMP).
* dinoiii’s note: I HAVE ONLY INCLUDED IMPORTANT VALUES HERE! If anyone wants to know carbon dioxide, etc… please email, it was just a lot to type out.
(1) Electrolytes:
Sodium: 142 mEq/L (Normal Range: 135-148 mEq/L)
Potassium: 3.9 mEq/L (Normal Range: 3.5-5.5 mEq/L)
(2) Liver & Kindey Function:
Blood/Urea/Nitrogen (BUN): 29 mg/dl (Normal: 5-26 mg/dl)
* dinoiii’s note: there are not many bb’s that follow a HIGH-protein diet that would pass this, therefore the next value becomes more pertinent for kidney evaluation (BUN would only be indirect anyway).
Creatinine: 1.2 mg/dl (Normal Male: 0.5-1.5 mg/dl)
(3) Sugar Management:
Blood Glucose: 72 mg/dl (65-109 mg/dl; Optimal: 70-100mg/dl) – dinoiii’s note: recall, I was on a lower carbohydrate portion of my CHO-cycling, coming off a higher carb day when blood was drawn.
(4) “Liver” Function
AST: 44 IU/L (Normal: 0-40 IU/L)
ALT: 40 IU/L (Normal: 0-40 IU/L)
* dinoiii’s note: these values are always elevated for me and I cannot attribute it to liver function per se. As I work out hard, consistent elevations in CPK lead me to believe that this is more likely attributable to muscle damage (i.e. – breakdown). These values are actually down a bit from my mid-point Yellow nEuphoria numbers, probably because they follow an off-day (Sunday) from the gym.
Alk Phos: 64 IU/L (Normal: 25-150 IU/L)
* dinoiii’s Note: CPK is NOT included in CMP, however – as I had stated before … I have to make sure this is elevated as well to rule out the need for imaging in me. It is usually elevated as it was this time.
Creatine Phosphokinase (CPK): 238 IU/L (Normal: 5-100 IU/L) – again, likely indicative of muscle damage – with 100% of the isoenzyme panel coming from the MM fraction. Much less than initial draw in Yellow nEuphoria trial for reasons stated above.
All within normal limits:
Bilirubin: Total, Direct, and Indirect; Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH); Protein: Albumin
HORMONAL PROFILE
Testosterone
General Use: In the male, total testosterone is used to evaluate testicular function in clinical states where the testosterone binding proteins may be altered (obesity, cirrhosis, thyroid disorders). It is our most accurate predictor of gonadal function and a rather good predictor of adrenal function – and any secondary changes as a result of dysfunction would potentially be evident here. Free testosterone is used to evaluate testicular function in clinical states where the testosterone binding proteins may be altered (obesity, cirrhosis, thyroid disorders, drug/supplement/herb use as below).
Rationale in this trial: There are obvious suggestions of testosterone alterations, as well as the free fraction with nettle extracts.
Total: 526 ng/dl (Normal: 241-827/1000 ng/dl; Optimal: 500-827/1000 ng/dl)
Free: 23.5 pg/ml (Normal for males aged 20-29: 9.3-26.5 pg/ml – this is a value that varies by age)
SHBG
General Use: This test is used to monitor SHBG levels that are under the positive control of estrogens and thyroid hormones and suppressed by androgens. Decreased levels are found in hirsutism, virilism, obese postmenopausal women, and women with diffuse hair loss. Increased levels are present in hyperthyroidism, testicular feminization, cirrhosis, male hypogonadism, pregnancy, prepubertal children, and in women using oral contraceptives.
Rationale in this trial: Needless to say, the use of nettle extacts as in the Hypermass stack are suggested to offer alteration to the SHBG fraction. SHBG elevations are seen in elevated estrogenic states, which we hope not to be the case (primary or secondary).
SHBG: 12.8 mmol/L (Normal: 13-71 nmol/L)
ESTROGEN
General Use: This is used in the evaluation of males with gynecomastia or feminization syndromes. Rationale for uses in females does NOT apply here – I noted my possession of a Y chromosome above.
Rationale in this trial: Alterations to testosterone fractions and/or SHBG could impart effect here. Our ability to rule this out is a good thing on many levels.
Estradiol: < 30pg/ml (Normal: < 30pg/ml)
Estrone: Not reported yet. (Normal: 12-72pg/ml)
DEHYDROEPIANDROSTERONE-SULFATE (DHEA-S)
General Use: This test is used to determine female infertility, amenorrhea, or hirsutism – so there, it’s rather easy! In males, it offers aid in the evaluation of excess androgen/adrenocortical disease including congenital adrenal hyperplasia and adrenal tumors. You MUST remember that you have the potential for crossover feedback pathways and it is imperative to evaluate not only gonadal function as above, but also adrenal function seen here.
Rationale in this trial: Full evaluation of crossover feedback examined, plus additional explanation if an abnormal value comes into view (i.e. – adrenocortical disease, etc…).
DHEA-S: 251 mcg/dl (Normal Male aged 18-30 yrs: 125-619 mcg/dl)
DIHYDROTESTOSTERONE (DHT)
General Use: In females, its uses are a bit different but I am male so we will concentrate on the rationales for me. In males, DHT aids in the evaluation of excess androgen/adrenocortical disease including congenital adrenal hyperplasia and adrenal tumors.
Rationale in this trial: I simply included this and offered it up here in case an adrenal issue came up. The value of it in increased testosterone states may show increased conversion routes. Overall, its value is limited here and it’s inclusion was just because I had it done. We will make this a clear point.
DHT: Not yet reported. (Normal Male: 30-85mg/dl; Optimal Male: 30-50mg/dl)
PITUITARY TIE-INS
General Use: For this, I include both TSH and prolactin. The prolactin crossover feedback pathways are innumerous in nature – however, the connection between prolactin and TSH is a bit more intimate.
Rationale in this trial: Estrogen alterations could have profound effects on both TSH and prolactin.
Prolactin: Not yet reported. (Normal Male: 2.1-17.7ng/ml; Optimal Male: 2.1-5ng/ml)
TSH: 1.5 mcIU/ml (Normal: 0.35-5.50 mcIU/ml; Optimal: < 2.1 mcIU/ml)
THROID PANEL
General Use: T4, total is one of the first tests done in assessing thyroid function. It is used to diagnose thyroid function and to monitor replacement and suppressive therapy. T4, free is used to evaluate thyroid function in patients who may have protein abnormalities that could affect total T4 levels. It is also used to diagnose thyroid function and monitor replacement and suppressive therapy. T3, total is a test for thyroid function used particularly in the diagnosis of thyrotoxicosis and hyperthyroidism. T3, free is used to evaluate thyroid function and access abnormal binding protein disorders.
Rationale in this trial: Now, imagine you had an abnormal TSH, now you got to go back to the lab for additional blood work…no sirree – dinoiii doesn’t like to continually play if he can afford it. Also, for my own piece of mind, thyroid function should always be evaluated when running carbohydrate cycling regimes as you guys are aware that I very much so do. CHO and caloric restriction offer up the need to explore potential euthyroid sick syndrome potential.
T4
Total: 6.3 mcg/dl (Normal: 4.5-12.0 mcg/dl)
Free: 1.14 ng/dl (Normal: 0.70-1.53 ng/dl)
T3
Total: 117 ng/ml (Normal: 60-181 ng/ml)
Free: Not yet reported (Normal: 260-480 pg/ml)
Cholesterol panel also drawn – will place it up here tomorrow.
Next set of labs approximated - Saturday, February 3, 2007
Ledger Entry – Jan 8, 2007
For five days now, I have sat and lie in wait; wait til the day I would be able to take the first dose. Uncertain of what to expect, I am afraid I’ve nothing to report on this night. While the gym experience had essentially met status quo, nothing more was to be sought until late into the first week of this experiment.
Continued monitoring of side effects offers me nothing to report as of this writing; that being the conclusion of first day. I am favoring the setup and the transformation that is projected to await me. While a rather daunting dosing protocol, each cap places me that much closer to the final product.
Never have I been so excited for a log - I love your blog and respect your opinions and rationality. Count me in.
However, your links must be to a competitor, as they get the "******" treatment and therefor do not work.
Yup - dinoiii is doing yet another rare log. I like that there Dr.D guy I tell ya. Fortunately his construction into formulations is a huge plus for AX.
Yeah, I am not sure about the blog thing - there are still some growing pains I think. I even have to go back and re-formulate some of my own prior posts.
Well, per your request maddam...I am now on the forum in full force and more frequent too. about those links - yeah they are a competitor, I didn't realize it would do that as when pogue aided me in another log, they worked when masked. Hmmmm - well, I can PM anyone who is interested in learning about any of them or seeing another log (in the Yellow nEuphoria one -or- you can stop by the Anabolic Xtreme forum and the sites are listed throughout.
Thanks also though for the kind remarks.
Hehe - I was hoping you would check it out in view with the ole gray background as well. It offers it a different eye appeal to some.
Day 2 Ledger entry ... the Story Continues - chaos vs. order.
Crimes – graffiti, vandalism, rage – Run Amok!
Author’s Note: Last time we learned of the appropriate translation of the story. This time, our saga rages on…
Ledger Entry – January 9, 2007
“Chaos is found mostly where order is being sought!”
Day 2…Waking up from a long night’s rest, I learned of the horrors that were the night: graffiti, rage in the streets… Could it be that the experiment had succeeded? I smiled with delight to see the television news report of such acts. Unfortunately, I could recall nothing at present.
Able to note alone, solely what happened prior to taking all four doses on each day and nothing more…my experiment would continue.
I have tiptoed along the fine line that exists separating chaos from order my entire life. What would it take to send me definitively down one path? A scientist at heart, I simply must know.
Day 2 Gym and Diet notes...alongside other running tallies - too early yet.
WEEK 1: Increased Workout Intensity / Recovery Potential
Day 2 (Jan 9, 2007):
Supplement Time: 4 times per day as suggested earlier (verified my suggestion with Dr.D prior to beginning the trial to make certain I was able to give them a log assessing appropriate protocol)
Dose Used: * Per product labels
Supplement Effects:
Subjective – The subjective components' effects have been extracted from the Anabolic Xtreme’s write-ups on both products. All parameters being “claimed” will be assessed on subjective rating scale.
PLEASE NOTE THAT I WILL BEGIN THESE EVALUATIONS ON THURSDAY of WEEK 1, because I do NOT want the reader to take the absence of any of the items to mean it is a bad product when it likely has simply not taken effect at this point.
(1) Alpha Male mentality
(2) Aggression
(3) Pumps
(4) Strength
(5) Joint/Tendon/Bone Health
(6) Libido
(7) Body Composition perception
Dinoiii's Rating Scale KEY:
* Insignificant Effect
** Slight Effect, Still Insignificant
*** Average Effect
**** Statistically Significant Effect
***** Dinoiii's Praise (statistical significance doesn't describe this!)
The Alpha Male (Hyde) Experience:
* Dinoiii’s Note: I will write down my experience with the product over the course of the day in what I note a “ ledger” to keep with the Hyde theme offering a very subjective interpretation of effects highlighted. These are direct notes I have jotted down signifying my personal experience in my own log.
Keep in mind that I have altered them to meet the language used in Stevenson’s book, so if you ever have questions about the jibberish in them, please ask me to translate in a post below.
Please note: some of the items ARE FICTITIOUS, dinoiii is NOT suggesting Mass Fx nor Hyperdrol will make you go out and start committing random crime acts in a fit of rage!
What today’s ledger entry should be translated to mean is that I have slept EXTREMELY WELL – is this a sign of better recovery ability? Dunno – slept like a baby. A solid number of hours and felt great as a result – how this translates: I likely could’ve committed some crimes and not known about it.  Get it?
Bottom line is that it is still too early to tell anything definitively outside of a potentially perceived better rest.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Objective –
(1) Blood Pressure
* measured via automated cuff; last calibrated on Jan 7, 2007
Baseline: 110-120/60-80
Before Supplement (this AM): 118/72
Noon Reading: 114/68
6:00pm Reading: 126/68
(2) Labs offered earlier in log // rationale: evaluation for side effect potential, and various hormonal markers, including SHBG. Please Note that I am still awaiting some lab results. I anticipate the COMPLETE SET TO BE IN TOMORROW and will post them all together, inclusive of the lipid panel done at baseline already in my possession.
------------------------------------------
Today’s Workout Notes:
Back Notes: While I cannot unfortunately list direct sets/reps info (due to the training modality’s inclusion in a forthcoming book), I can offer up bigger lifts and any effect seen as well as some elctromyographic (EMG) reports throughout.
Major Lifts ONLY
Deadlift: Max Lift w/ reps today: 405 pounds x 8 reps – was not maxing this weight today. This was a respectable lift and looking back upon former logs, this goes down as roughly - 3-4 reps when compared with equal weight. May be too early to see huge supplement effect – my real effects, per write-up suggestion will occur into the latter part of this first week. Shoulder is not a limiting factor in this lift.
Bent-Over Barbell Row: Max Lift w/ reps today: 275 pounds x 12 reps. + 2 reps when compared with same weight.
Weighted Pull-Ups: Max Lift w/ reps today: 90 lbs added weight to chained weight belt x 6 reps, THIS MATCHES PERSONAL BEST set on December 12, 2006. And I am ok with this; I am not sure I will be able to break it, as it is a pretty tough lift that leaves my posterior chain almost completely fatigued by the time I am through. I have since that date been unable to match the lift and the supplement at least encouraged a successful attempt…the sixth rep was almost pure instinct to avoid crashing to the floor and momentum may have carried some of the weight.
--------------------------------------------
Today’s Diet Notes:
Again, same issue with the diet notes, I cannot fully disclose meal for meal what I am trying out due to a future book (it is likely good to see I am in effect practicing what I preach though – Mezzogal can once again chime in to concur here) though I have offered a great outline up in the Subject Analysis section above.
Caloric Intake remained the same as baseline: 4200 calories divided over 9 meals, this is one meal more than my previous log, because it is actually + 750 calories when compared to 4 weeks ago stats.
Macronutrient Notes: I cycle macros, today was low-carb…I don’t tend to get carb cravings as I am VERY self-disciplined; however, could have attributed general full feeling all day to some aid from supplement…usually I can see an episode of ravaging hunger sneak in for at least a meal or two. Some find it interesting that I am at such a high caloric intake with LOW carbohydrate, this doesn’t mean that I am ingesting all the fats in sight; it is a very structured ratio of mono- : poly-unsaturates : saturates.

Tomorrow - some of you may not be familiar with a concept I call "Independent Supplement Review"
This will be part I and I think it will offer an educational side to the tale...and yes, there will still be story line as well!
