trial and error is the only answer. i do none. I don't need to. I lift with more intensity than most people can fathom(not arrogant, just true) and I have a great diet for my goals through trial and error.
The point I'm trying to hammer home is the you have to get to know your own body. We offer general principles here, not rules etched in stone. You might need twice a day, seven days a week or none at all. Depends on a host of things...SERIOUS***natescope IS A SNITCH! BEWARE!*****

my heart rate is well above LISS range when I lift weight. Lifting is my cardio, know what I mean? My doctors and I feel I'm in outstanding cardiovascular health.
thats not to say I lift weights a few times a week and lay on the couch, I'm an active person, I just don't have a need to dedicate time to "cardio" per say..SERIOUS***natescope IS A SNITCH! BEWARE!*****

I guess, most people aren't active enough, thus they need to lose fat. Also adding cardio into your lifts would only increase your deficit increasing the speed on your cut.
But we'll see.
Also it's latin: 'per se' meaning "by itself"8/15/06 - 256 LBS 32ish%
3/20/07 - 233 LBS 21ish%
Still cutting.
