Question Trying to finish what i started org. 8 years ago.

ok this is new for me. I am on a mission to finish a goal i started eight years ago. No i am not lazy or that big a loser. In fact i was making pretty good progress till my husband had to go to Iraq. before I knew it i had let depression get to me, had to have sugery and then my brother died of cancer and was a full tiime mom and dad now. before i knew it the gym went out the door.

Now i am back on track but need some help on where to go from here. Seems i have hit a rut in progress. i am still making progress but at a slower pase.

my workout consist right now
monday back and calves and 25 to 30 mins cardio after.
tuesday shoulders and biceps and 20 to 30 mins cardio after
wed chest and triceps and cardio
thurs legs do about 10 mins cardio after (found keeps my legs from being as sore the next day.)
friday cardio
saturday abs and cardio
sunday rest.

i am trying to eat six small meals a day and no eating after 8pm

i just ordered a eplitical machine for the house so i can start doing cardio in the morning. i am hoping this will help with progress.

i am taking flaxseed oil and mulit vitimins along with calicuim. should i be taking anything else?

I'm not sure if you meant to post this is the steroids section or not. I guess you didn't. I don't mod this section but you could ask a moderator who does to move it for you.

Anyway, about your question. What are your goals? If your goal is to gain muscle and lose fat, then you are doing FAR too much cardio.
I do not use steroids and I have built a lean and muscular physique without ANY cardio.
Actually, that is not entirely true. I do cardio and it consists of squats, deadlifts, rows, chins, presses etc
Think about this.... When you do 30 mins on a bike, your heart rate increases and your breathing becomes more rapid causing you to sweat and burn calories....
....when you do a set of heavy squats with a decent depth, your heart rate increases, your breathing becomes more rapid and you sweat and burn calories. You might have a one minute rest then do another set causing your heart rate and breathing to increase further. Repeat this for 6 - 8 sets and your heart will be pounding and you will be breathing HARD.....
....sound familiar?
There is one great advantage to using weight training as your cardio rather than bikes, treadmills, ellipticals etc., and that is you are working your muscles, creating a need for your body to repair and rebuild them even stronger. That in turn increases your RESTING metabolic rate. You do not get anywhere near the same benefit from non weight training type cardio (which will only hold you back!!)
I hope this gives you something to think about. Trust me, it works, ESPECIALLY for natural trainers who do not have the recovery ability of AAS using athletes.
