Hi.
I am wondering if any fruit stands out as being the best for post-workout consumption.
Typically I have a whey protein shake immediately after I workout. Then I usually have a banana about 30-45 minutes later. Now I am thinking it would be best to have the banana sooner to help get the needed sugars into my system. What I am wondering though is there a fruit that is better than the banana. Perhaps one that is abosrbed quicker etc.
Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Bananas are actually low GI, and apples are really low.
Here's a good article on picking fruit for around your workouts: http://www.findarticles.com/p/articl..._n6170379/pg_2

The unreal is more powerful than the real, because nothing is as perfect as you can imagine it. because its only intangible ideas, concepts, beliefs, fantasies that last. stone crumbles. wood rots. people, well, they die. but things as fragile as a thought, a dream, a legend, they can go on and on
sciamachy: fighting with a shadow or an imaginary enemy; a mock contest; an imaginary or futile combat.

Don't be afraid to make mistakes, stumble and fall, because most of the time, the greatest rewards come from doing the things that scare you the most. Maybe, you'll get everything you wish for. Maybe, you'll get more then you could ever have imagined. Who knows where life will take you. The road is long, and in the end - - the journey is the destination.

There is no "best one" per se, since there are so many advantages to each fruit, so it depends on your personal needs. A banana is an excellent choice because it has more potassium than most other fruits, and a higher glycemic value than most others also. If youre looking for faster fruits, watermelons is hard to beat, and I know it's not a fruit, but parsnips have just about the highest gi of any plant
