Give me a break.

people can play sports to stay in shape, because they enjoy playing it, or for just simple recreation as a lack of having something better to do
not everyone wants to go pro

Where is Delta? Oh, wait
It's much harder than advertised. Those who play the game for fun, opposed to those who play it because they want to go pro have a better chance. You'll find that there is a fraction of a percent on this site who actually have a chance to go pro and most of them are baseball players.
Ladies and gentlemen please, would you bring your attention to me, for a feast for your eyes to see, an explosion of catastrophe, like nothing you've ever seen before, watch closely as I open this door, your jaws will be on the floor, after this you'll be begging for more.

I love football too, the reason I want to go pro is not just because of the money but so I can still play organized ball, and play at higher levels.

IF it comes up my junior year that i can play pro I'd wait till my senior year get my degree then do so. But if it never comes up I'll just be a college player

Doesnt mean it wont happen... but at the same time I'm not saying everyone on this forum is going pro... maybe 1-2 perhaps... just think how hard it is to become a rapper and get famous with that.. probably 10x harder

I would love to. Do I have the ability? I doubt it.
I'll keep trying but when other people are running 11.3s in the 100m at 13 yr old, you have to question your ability.
I agree that it is good to do your sport for fun - otherwise, why would you even bother?

F*ck UCLA
Never wanted to go pro in football but being a professional baseball player has always been my dream. I honestly think right now I think I'm between a AAA-AA player, but when and if I decide to enter the draft I'm gonna bust my ass.

14, 5'6, 109... good luck, you're really going to need it.
im 14, 6'1/6'2, 245 (cutting now, football body) and i am the best freshman at my school (serious). the only real challenge for me is playing varsity players and playing against adults, which i do everyday. but yea u should really check in to an education route, ive got a 4.0 gpa, and know i have a very low chance of going into the NBA.
just being realistic for you.

Hard work pays off. Simple.
I have lost over 100 pounds of fat while gaining some muscle along the way. You can reach your goals, just give it time and plenty of hard work.

If you love the game you want to continue to play until you can't. The only way to do it is to go from rec, to middle school, then high school, then college, and finally pros.

i never did **** in high school,, then was drafted by the brewers and then i said,,"now im gonna bust my ass". i took everything very seriously and it became a job,, then i completely lost interest and didnt do as well as i could have..i used to get so pumped the night before a baseball game,, then after a while it was like -"ahhh i really dont feel like being at the ballpark all day''
one thing you'll notice with professional athletes is they have fun. pro athletes love what they do, if it isnt fun, then its a job that they will loose.

MLB is unlike football in that you don't have to enter the draft to be drafted.
