Tina's 2007 Comp
Hello, I thought this was the right thing to do for the new year was to start a new journal for 2007. I have decided several weeks back to try and do my 1st competition 3-24-07. It is the Northern Kentucky Show put on by Beverly International. Being it my first show, it's a big one. Last year they had 60 aprox women in Figure and split them into 10 groups.
I have just ordered my suits, I will be putting my own crystals on (god help me). Thankfully I get my suits next week, so I have time to mess with them. My shoes are on their way. I am hoping I can meet my goal and fit into those things. I couldn't believe how expensive they are. I bought plain ones.
Since my show isn't until March I am little hesitant to try them on after I get them. But, the maker states she can tell if any adjustments will need to be made even so far out. So I will squeeze into the tight little material "BIG GIRL IN TINY SUIT" LOL!! These pics will be priceless
As far as training goes I have the most wonderful trainer her name is Roxana. She competes as well. Her husband and herself are both personal trainers/nutritionist. Roxana took me down from 164.4lbs to now 140lbs after the x-mas festivities I gained from 134ish-140lbs. I'm sure its alot of water, sodium so it should come off pretty easy. I just have to get in all my water.
Diet is 3 low glycemic days with 2med, and 2high carb days. Training right now is:
Monday-Legs, Shoulders, Abs
Tues-Off
Wed-Back, Bi's, Abs
Thurs-Legs
Fri-HIIT ONLY AM
Sat-Shoulders (Heavy), Legs
Sun-Chest, Tri's
Legs are being hit the hardest these last few weeks, we will then back off on them a little.
I have 2 cardio sessions one AM and PM session. My morning sessions are now 35min and evening sessions have increased 5mins added on to each one. The pm sessions rotate, the am sessions never rotate always the same.
My hubby is deploying around the 5th of January 2007, so he will be checking in on my journal to see my progress. I will be left with a dog, and nine year old. I am currently living with my parents due to family support. I am working full time as well. Needless to say I am super busy it seems all the time.
Anyway, sorry so long winded. Have a Happy New Year!!

Joan-you should I say is the inspiration here, you are always amazing...
Tara-ya I had to hold my breath with the amount I paid for plain suits (I almost passed out). I haven't started posing yet. I need to talk to my trainer its about that time. I'll need the 3mo practice.
Charity-I am excited it seems more real now, no room for eating errors It should be interesting, I really don't see my legs coming in they are very stubborn
Day-I posted the diet above*thanks for stopping by*

Tina - You're going to do just great. You have a good base, especially up top. That's where the judges like to see it the most, in my experience.
I'll be following along, and I'll be at the Northern this year. I have several friends doing this show, so I'll get to come up and cheer you on. It should be fun.

hey girl - good idea on a new journal... I've turned journal lazy. I've been tracking my progress in a book... then turn lazy come time to type it... but it's going well!
Your back in your avatar is fricken awesome!!! I'll be following along for sure! I know you say your legs are stubborn... but seriously they're looking much much better! I was talking about you to my folks over the weekend - about where you started and how far you've come in such an amazing amount of time... I mean it IS time well spent and it shows...
I pulled up the first and last photos - if you start at the first and look all the progress pix individually you think yeah she looks great - but if you put them side by side you think wholly fuking wow!!! amazing work!!! Since your legs seemed to have the most need of change - that's where all your hard work is MOST evident... I'm totally pulling for ya in March!! I think you'll do great!
BTW I found the brocslaw - yummy stuff! :-)

Mary-your sooo sweet it wouldn't be right w/o you my dear
Musclemom-Thank you for your support. He is Army. He will leave for 12months to Iraq. He's actually been gone since Sept. for training these past few months in the States. We've seen each other a couple of times. Now here goes our longest stretch ever. This is my first deployment So needless to say I'm staying w/my family during this time and staying very busy. What branch is your husband and where are you currently stationed?
Simpy-How great that would be!! Basically since hub is going to be gone during this time. I'm a little nervous, what am I kidding alot nervous!!
Irish-thanks for stopping by *waves*
Skyden-welcome, the show is figure that I hope to compete in. I say hope, because I'm still doubtful of my legs I've been told everyone feels this way especially around their first show. Thermomaxx is a thermogenic fat burner. So, I hoping it will help w/the cla, guarana combined.
I am nervous to start decorating my suits!! I have never done this before. I am afraid I will just mess them up big time. I should get them sometime next week. All I can picture is me with my fingers stuck together and rhinestones stuck to me LOL!!

Hey Tina....glad you have started a journal for comp prep...it will really help you stay focused and the support is just awesome!!!
Your pics look good! I would think you defiinitely have a great plan in place.
Hehehe, about doing your own suit...I am sure you will have a lot of fun with it! I'm not that game however, I have someone doing mine for me (although because I am doing bb not figure, I have a more simpler one so not as much bling bling as you will need)....Good luck with the heels!!! I have heard once you get them to just start wearing them all the time when you are home so you really get used to them so when you are there up on stage they feel completely natural!
Good luck with everything! I will be following along!

12 months...YIKES I feel for ya!! Loads of prayers!
My hubby is in the Marines (16 years!!!). He has done 6 or 7 deployments. (all 6 mo except for one which was 11) The past 3 1/2 years, he has only been home about a year w/ all the travel he does. It is almost weirder to have him home We are currently in CA (Camp Pendelton)...just moved back to the mainland from HI.
Hang in there and just stay busy!!
BTW...your suit looks GREAT!!!!!

*waves to everyone*
Ness-How have you been? Everything doing ok?
Sherdi-ur back puts mine to shame just amazing!!
Tink-thanks, for stopping in and ur support
Sun- I can't wait to see the end results, it's like I'm in the home stretch of the finish line YAY!!
Musclemom-so he's a lifer I would say!! My husband's identical twin is in the Marines how funny!! He's stationed in Quantico, VA I believe.
Six-Are you on the Cincinnati police force? I work over the rhine YIKES!! Again thanks for the info. Yay, I can meet you!! Ya know I read about the show last year. Didn't you compete in it??? I thought I saw it on the internet. Are you competing in the show this year?
I was reading today on posing, plus attempting and I'm wondering am I even doing the pose right. So I am just going to have to do posing classes I think. I don't even know if I'm doing it correctly with the feel and everything. Yippy Skippy does everyone feel like this their first attempts? Plus, how to transition the pose smoothly. If you could only see me attempting them heeheee LOL!! What a sight.
Diet is completely on but, I am just feeling like I would like to eat everything today The memories of standing at the fridge and wondering what to eat?
I did back/bi's today w/cardio.

Happy Thursday!
Yep, hubby is a lifer
Posing can make or break your stage presence and placing. Taking a class would be perfect!
Have a great day!

Hi Tina!!!!! You are doing so great!!!! I think posing class would be really smart, or even try and put the word out in your area (at your gym?) or on here that you would love if someone has done a comp and could help you with posing. That is what I'm going to do..I think.

Hi Tina
I agree...posing classes will only be benifical to you . Go For It!
You talk about wanting to eat everything today...Ha! I am right with you, girl.
It may be because I am getting stricter as the comp gets closer.
Hang tight Tina...it's ALL worth it !

A little off the subject tonight is my last night with my husband. I am feeling really aweful...trying not to cry. I am don't know how to say this but I now know how each wife has felt when their spouse has been deployed to Iraq. I do not wish it upon anyone. You consciously know that this could be the last time you see each other. I know I shouldn't think like that, but it is very difficult, each person does not know the future. I'm sure everything will be fine. I will right a little later. I might be mia for a little bit being tommorrow is the day I see him fly out.
For my husband that I know will be reading my journal. You are my life, and my soulmate. Remember this and come back home to me safely!!! I LOVE YOU and am already missing you.

Hi Tina! I was a lurker in your previous journal, but I don't believe I ever made my presence known.
Your transformation so far has been so inspring to so many of us, and I'm glad to see that you started another journal for your contest prep!
My husband and I are both in the military too, so I know how hard those deployments can be. I know you can sometimes feel helpless in a situation where you are the one still at home, trying to live out your day to day life, and are worried about your spouse.
I am glad that you have found fitness, and gotten so into it! It will really help to give you something to focus on to help keep your mind off of things. (Other than your work and child of course... which is a lot already!) It's nice to have an outlet for your frustration, and working out definately gives you some quality "me" time.
So good luck with everything! I'll be following you on your way, and this time I'll actually chime in a bit!
Take care,
Jocelyn

Tina, first of all , you can never "go off the subject". This is your journal to talk about anything, and everything.
It's ok to cry.
*hug*
You two have a super relationship...keep hold of that, and be proud you two love each other as you do.
It is hard I am sure, but be strong...and anticapte and hold a goal for the next time you are together...physiclly
*hug*

For my husband that I know will be reading my journal. You are my life, and my soulmate. Remember this and come back home to me safely!!! I LOVE YOU and am already missing you.

I don't know what to say other than my prayers are with you. It is OK to cry! (I cried for several days when I found out my hubby was going. It leaves and empty pit in your stomach.) It is frightening and you have every right to be scared and sad.
...and vent away, it is your journal!
...and thanks to both you and your hubby for the service that you do for out country! God Bless and here's to a safe return!!!
