Great deadlifting rune
Tell me something, that last set of 405x10....how exactly is that performed? Are you deloading on the ground? Are you regriping then pulling?
I'm just curious because i find high rep deads are freakin difficult because i used to bounce it off the ground making me able to dead 405xinfinity...but if i regriped and went it was 10x more difficult.
Its still effective if ya do it that way, but was just curious on how ya did it..thanks ya bruh

I do them touch and go, but I never bounce the weight off the ground, I control the negative down touch the barbell and then lift again. For lower rep sets(the 475) I fully deload and regrip.

Comments: I just wasn't feeling it today, I think I overworked myself a little last week and now it's showing because my shoulders were achy as hell today. Chins ups went alright, I kind of pulled my left lat funny though and there is a little dull pain, nothing too severe though so I'm gonna take it a bit easy with the upper work this week. I dunno, not too happy with this wokrout, but it wasn't horrible I guess.

Thanks guys, I dunno, I've been doing this a lot lately where I leave the gym and I look at numbers and I know I'm doing good, but I just can't seem to be able to pat myself on the back and then I get down about it.

Comments: Did alright today, gonna stick to higher reps on the squats for a while, I'm not feeling the low rep thing too much and I want to see if this will help them out any. 315 wasn't too bad, legs were pretty tired by the end of this though. Did some arm work today aswell because I left before doing it yesterday, hit everything pretty good, I'm failry pleased with this workout.

Rune,
Catching up with the new journal man. I was like... drrr wonder why I haven't gotten an email about Rune's thread lately... drrr, LOL. Nice squattin man! I can't say I agree with all the reps of everything but its grueling none the less. What was your rest period between the 315 sets? Did you leave any in the tank on the first set? Oh, I looked up a few posts and saw those STUPID chins of yours. Man, those are insane!
Oh, DB skulls? How come those over EZ bar or straight bar?
Is your Leg press machine vertical,45deg, 35deg, etc??
Anyways keep up the good work!! Dude I dont know why you are getting your head down about your workouts... You HAVE to plateau for a bit sometimes. If not then every person that has worked out for more than 4 or 5 years would be benching 450 and squatting 600. Keep your dang head up man and just be damned if you go in the gym next time and leave without some personal records... BE DAMNED if you dont.
Hit it hard,
Richard

Is your Leg press machine vertical,45deg, 35deg, etc??
Anyways keep up the good work!! Dude I dont know why you are getting your head down about your workouts... You HAVE to plateau for a bit sometimes. If not then every person that has worked out for more than 4 or 5 years would be benching 450 and squatting 600. Keep your dang head up man and just be damned if you go in the gym next time and leave without some personal records... BE DAMNED if you dont.
Hit it hard,

heh, sorry dude, I put a post in my log linking here, I was hoping that everybody would catch that.
For squats I was resting about 2 and a half to 3 minutes, I think I could have hit 8 or so on the first set, but then I knew I would have nothing for the second so I left some there. Chins are my specialy now I think, I dunno, they feel so natural to me, where as with squats and stuff I have to work very hard to progress.
With flat skulls the EZ bar tends to bother my elbow, I wanted to see how it would feel with the DB's, they felt pretty good, but my tris were tired already, I'll be giving them another go fresh hopefully. The leg press machine is a seated variety the closest would be something like this as far as angle and stuff ( http://www.advmax.com/2066S.jpg) the one at my gym is plate loaded though, it's one of the hardest leg press machines I've used.
Thanks for the encouragement too bro, I know I shouldn't be so hard on myself, and I don't know why I can't just be happy with things. It's one of the things that keeps me going, but it also can get my mind a little out of whack at times.

Thanks Day, nothing too high probably just 5-8 instead of 3, I'm hoping more time under the bar = better technique = better numbers!

Nah I saw the link... just a BIT late. Not your fault at all. Are you getting more CNS fatigue or muscle fatigue on those 315 sets? Sorry about all the questions, just thinking about a few things.
Yeh man on those chins... Isn't it crazy how come exercises just seem to fit for a person? I bet people look at you like you are crazy stacking on two plates and going to do chins, haha. Nice!

I'd say more muscular fatigue on account of my piss poor technique, I've been working hard at trying to keep my shins more upright and really controling my decent to build up some stretch reflex. And don't worry, I'm happy to answer, especially if your able to offer any advice, etc.
heh, I get strange looks strapping on 1 plate and doing reps with it, when I grab the second I get the looks like "theres no f**king way", my gym is not hardcore by any means, so I tend to get a lot of people looking at me like I'm some kind of freak.

You mean some kind of BEAST!! ...
Well, I was just thinking that maybe some heavy heavy low rep leg pressing would be good to get the CNS used to the weight while working on form on the squats. I think my CNS is my big hinderance on both squat and dead.(Of course it could just be my brain seeing the four plates and five plates and thinking... NO WAY, haha). But, when I stacked on 405 last week and picked it off the pegs I started to get a head rush and I wasn't even doing anything. I just know how leg pressing just KICKS my ASS when I go really low reps. I just CANT extert the same force on squats because I just don't feel like I am in the right position. Don't get me wrong... I will NOT be stopped on squats but leg pressing is great to just fell really heavy weight on the legs.

Richard

hmmm, well it's definitely a different way of looking at things than I normally would.. but hey, it sure sounds like it's worth a shot, for some reason my leg press really seems to nail my PC aswell (my ass/hammies were killing me after those 15 rep sets) so I just think I may have to give this a try for a couple weeks and see!
Thanks for your input bro, I truly do apprectiate it.
