*New**Life**New**Me*
Hello.
Im back! And ready to get on track.
Some of you might remember me as :: previous :: n8s_ltl_buff1...
No more, I am doing this for ME now. And I am ready to get healthy for my new life.
After 3 months of rebelion to all my nutritional knowledge, I have realised that even that didn't make me HUMUNGOUS like I'd dreaded in the past. I am still wearing pants that I'd already owned.. (though they were previously reserved for one specific week out of the month ).. Nor did I shrivle up and die on the days that I didn't eat all that I should've.
But now I am ready to get my ducks in a row, and go back to being the healthi-er version of me.
I'll give you a little background for those of you who may not remember me.
I am ::now:: 23 years old. 5'5.5", and sitting at about 145# at the moment.
I began lifting and eating healthy 4 years ago ::as of Christmas day::
The first three months I began, I lost 25#!!! After that, I was hooked.
I continued getting stronger and faster, and muscular! It was wonderful!
I Joined the Navy the following December where I injured my left knee, right hip, and right shoulder.
::Also, I danced from the time I was 3years old on::
Those factors combined have led to many a complications on my journey to be the best me.
I now have degenerative knees, and God knows what is wrong with my shoulder..? My hip only gives me issues every once in awhile, but when it does I pretty much have to call it quits for 2-3 weeks. ::I can barely WALK during those times!::
But still, my love of the weight room brings me back time after time! I LOVE lifting and seeing the definition come in little by little! It just encourages me to keep striving! That one day, regardless of how many doctors I have to see between now and then, I will achieve the health and physique I desire.
So, I am hoping to get myself mentaly prepared to get back to my old meticulous self by Jan 1..
If anyone has any experiences to share about mental success coming back from a down point I'd love to gain some insight.. I am DETERMINED to get back the healthier me ::I'm even looking forward to all the awkward looks and random comments about my food intake!:: haha!!
Thanks all!
Tink

Needing help to get back to where I was
Ok, I'm including a link to my old journal so as to show how far I've fallen off from where I was.
I really could use some help to mentally get myself back on track. I am having alot of trouble trying to get back to all my healthy choices as far as eating goes.
http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...=n8s_ltl_buff1
I know I am capable of getting back on track, I just am having such a hard time saying no to all these foods that I know I shouldn't be eating.. and the biggest catch of all is that most of them arn't even that good!
I just dont know how to get my self control back. It's like, even as I am dishing up whatever it is, and then WHILE I am eating it, I think to myself the whole time "you dont need this. there are healthy options availiable right here next to you..." And then at the end.. "why did I eat that?"
If anyone has any advise, please help me out.
Thanks all
Tink

Day 1... January First!!!!
Ok.. just a little side note: I am a shift worker. This month I am working nights, hence the reason for the screwy food times. I switch back and forth from working 0730-1930 one month to 1930-0730 (the following day, of course) the next month.
Like I said, this month is the 1930-0730 month... Always my first meal will be on the day I start the post with.
Here goes nothin'
Jan 1st (on Mids..)
1745 – 1 med apl, glass of chocolate milk
2000 – Aprox time.. took 1 pack animal cuts
2045 – 3 egg whites, 1 whole egg (scrambled and eaten with black and red pepper season), ½ C dry oats, 2t splenda, cinnamon, Green tea.
2200 – 30m varied inc. &speed walk
2240 – glucosamine condroitin sup, calcium magnesium zinc sup, MSM sup
2310 – 1C ff plain yogurt, 1C raspberries, ½ C blueberries, t splenda
0210 – 1oz Almonds
0435 – animal cuts
0500 – salmon filet, 15 brussel sprouts
I weighed myself today; 148#. Not bad, but not good either. I cannot wait to get back to looking how I did in my old journal... Guess we'll see how well these Animal Cuts work!
Yea!!! I felt so good today! (I even said 'no' to chocolate covered pretzels!! The only thing I didn't like much about the diet today was the chocolate milk this 'morning'.. but, baby steps...
I'll get there soon!
Anyway, I hope everyone had an EXCELLENT New Years!
I am off to go get meal #6 and go to bed!
'night all

Down 1# ALREADY!!!!
Ok, so I know FOR A FACT that it is water weight, but WOOO-HOOO!!!
Anyway, January Second: 147#
1605 – Apple
1800 – chocolate milk
2135 – animal cuts
2225 – 3 egg whites, 1 whole egg (scrambled and eaten with black and red pepper season), ½ C dry oats, 2t splenda, cinnamon, Green tea.
2330 – 30 m stationary bike, 15 min stretch
0025 - glucosamine condroitin sup, calcium magnesium zinc sup, MSM sup
0045 - 1C ff plain yogurt, 10 strawberries, ½ C blueberries, t splenda
I will be having a couple more meals.. but my schedual for tonight and tomorrow morning is kinda wacky!
I'm about to go home and take a nap (it's 0215 right now) then I have to get up and run some errands in the morning, so that I can go back to sleep and get up for work tomorrow night.
So, pardon whatever crazy times I post the next day and a half's worth of meals... Se la vi!
Ciao all!

Jan 2nd cont...
Ok, so after my last post, I went home and went to sleep.
Woke up around 0630 to go pick up my housemate from work. Than he and I had some errands to run so I got back to sleep around 1300 today... but here is how the morning went between sleep periods...
0715 – Animal cuts
0830 – ¾ oz almonds
1000 – met-rx protien bar
I know the bar isn't very good, but I needed something quick while we were running errands. I wanted to make some more eggs, but didnt have time between when we got home and then left again for errand running...
oh well..

Hey there! Welcome back!
I noticed your schedule seems very similar to mine, and that you're in Italy... are you in the Military by chance?
I am in the Air Force, and I have a Sunday - Wednesday shift, but the same issues with crazy and unpredictable hours, so I know how hard it can be sometimes trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle. (Especially working 12's on shift!)
Hang in there though, and welcome back to it!

Hi!
YOU CAN DO IT! I find these message boards, and especially my journal, and great motivators for me, for getting mentally into it!

Garrrrrr!!!!!!
Ok.
Hiatis.
OVER.
For :real: this time.
I have GOT to get myself :completely: back on track.
::I am about to whine and moan about all the *CRAP* keeping me from this, right now::
(feel free to :SMACK: me upside the head!)
SO........
August of last year, I decided to call it quits on my marriage.
:things just wern't working out like we'd planned:
So, my husband left in the early half of September.
I proceded to move in with my best friend and his roomate, and went on a complete craze of :non-healthy: EVERYTHING! (My ex is who got me into working out, and I just needed a ::BIG:: rebelion)
Well, by the time I decided to get back on track (when I started this journal) We did not have an oven or stove.
:THIS HAS CONTINUED TO ::NOW:: AND STILL GOING W/O ONE AT THE MOMENT:
Well, I went back to the states to visit family and get my divorce (which was  wierd).
(it is true what they say about never being able to go back home)
I came back home :and luckily began working out again::at least:
Our other roomate's time here is over, and so we had to find a new place.
So, now we're :mostly: moved in, but still waiting on the NAVY to get all the inspection and pay things out of the way, so that THEY CAN FREAKIN' GIVE US A STOVE AND FRIDGE!!!!!
So, here I am, guys.
I am fed up with being *out of shape* and I have no fridge or stove at the moment.
:hopefully soon all of these things will be rectified:
I am working out at least 4 times a week
I am eating *moderately* healthy
:: oh yeah!!:: I got my BEST RUN TIME EVER last week on our Physical Fitness Assesment!!
1.5 miles - 12.34 min. (Me and Steven finished at the same time!)
I will post my workouts here.
::food will come once things are 'normal'::
(ie: I at least have a fridge)

Ok, so I'd like to first of all say that
MUSCLE MEMORY IS FREAKING AWESOME!
Ok, so the (ass) is perking right back upto where it was!
(I LOVE working legs... I know, wierd)
Today's (Friday) W/O
30 min w/u on treadmill
Superset w/u: 20x45 squats - 20x45 stiff legged deadlifts
3x10x50 kneeling cable kickbacks
5x12x55 hip raises
3x15x155 wide stance seated leg press
I finished there. I was going to do some step-ups and ab work, however my hip started hurting pretty bad, and my stomach wasn't taking to the eggs and oatbran I ate before the w/o...
Oh well...
Legs are *killing* already, and the w/o was only 4.5-5 hours ago, so TOMORROW should be fun! (ha!)
Anywho, wednesday I got off shift at 8:30 am and just stayed up all day, so I could go to bed w/ Steven, and then both yesterday and today (before work today) were devoted to cleaning one of the three apartments that are still technically in my posession... (that one is done on the 15th.. the next on the 29th, and then I should be all settled and cozy in my *newest* place!!! YIPPIE!)
Okie dokie, ladies... I got to get back to actually *working*.
Ciao, and talk to you's tomorrow.
*Tink
P.S. Weight today was 145#... havn't been there for awhile...
Seem to always float around the 148-151 window... 'd be nice to see 130 again sometime....
I'll get there.

Just wanted to pop in here and wish you luck! I find that visiting here, even if it's just to update my journal and browse the others, I find so much inspiration and motivation.

Hey! Another dancer...it does so many good things for a body, but LORD it makes a mess of the joints, eh?? When did you stop? I did my last performance when I was 25. I think I gave it up just in time
Good luck!!

*sigh* ::missing it::
I danced from ages 4-18.
I miss it so much, to be honest. I have a few friends who went off to collage to major in Dance, but I had that *I'm not good enough* thought, so never took it past high school.
Someday, though, when I get out of the Navy, and settled somewhere with a company close by, I'd like to get back into it.. we'll see how my joints hold up till then, though...
Thanks for replying...

Oh! I didn't ask what kind of dance you did! I did the whole 'tap/jazz/ballet' thing when I was a kid, but got my degree in modern dance and continued to train in ballet on my own through college with a Russian dude (which was really interesting when no one at the barre could understand the combination he just said to do LOL) . Then a friend of mine got into bellydance so I played around with that a little bit just for fun. And boooooy was it fun!! I kinda wish there was an adult ballet class in this town. That would be no pressure and lots of fun, I think.
Aaaaaanyway..OH!! I just thought of something that might actually be useful to you. Can you get a little toaster oven since you don't have an oven/stove? They can be pretty cheap.

Bamboo -
I did it all.. except NEVER point.
Modern was my favorite, though. My friends, both the summers after junior and senior years, had their own company that they started up in which I danced with them too! It was SOOOOOO much fun! It always took me a little longer to get all the steps, than it did for them, though.. dang friends! haha!
About the toaster oven..
Well, my new place FINALLY passed inspection on Friday, so in the morning (after I get off my 12 hour shift tonight) I am going to go down to the housning dept. here, and hopefully get everything straightened out. Then hopefully by the end of the week, I will have my rent money, utility money, and all the necessary appliances.. We'll see.
Anywho...
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO EVERY ONE!!!!!
(thinking about maybe some cardio tonight, but... not really feeling it now, so we'll see....)
Ciao bellas
