Julia's 2007 Muscle Mission for Competition

Hello all,

I am starting a new journal for 2007's goals:

1) To build 5 lbs. of muscle by July and compete in the Capitol City Natural Bodybuilding Competition on July 21st.

2) Start my new career as a Personal Trainer at my gym.

We are off to Hawaii tomorrow morning so when I get back on January 4th, I will re-sign up with MsFit for 30 weeks to get me ready! I had a fabulous 12 weeks with her this year and she got me down to 16% body fat.

It will be quiet here for the next 6 days, but "I'll be back"

Here are my start pictures. I got a spray tan today!!

Alohoa Emma! My tan got a little darker overnight. I love, love it! Would haighly recommend the air brush tan. ALthough I'm sure it has a lot to do with who applies it and what product they use. I'm ready for the beach!

Aloha!! We arrived here finally! As soon as we got to the airport at 6:50am, they told us our flight was delayed until 11:20!

So I did manage to get 2 chapters done (NASM) while we waited and a glass of wine before we took off! We barely made out connecting flight but jammed through the Honolulu airport to catch it and when we got to Kona at 5:00 (Kona time) our lugguage wasn't on the flight! We did not get our luggge until 10:00pm.

The house is beautiful but no beach unless you call lava rock beach. We are oceanfront though so not complaining and Buzz and I have to ocean view bedroom. Made it to costco today for...chicken! I just cooked and packaged 6 of them, got some veggies too.

Tricia: I found those purple japanese potatoes you talked about. What's the best way to cook them because microwaving wasn;t so hot! Made them tough.

I'm on a dial-up connections here....snore....I'll never complain about ours again.

Dog sitter said the pups were fine except the gate to the hallway didn't get closed all the way and Miss Katie managed to go into the living room and eat the fish food I set out

silly dog!

I miss you guys and will try to catch up with everyone's journals!

Julia- Aloha! So glad you had a safe flight. How did you do?

The best way to cook the Oki SP are to either bake them whole, or cut them up (delicious sprayed with a bit of pam and sprinkled with Cinnamon and my staple Splenda...my kids fav!!! )

. Already hit the Costco?? You don't miss a beat! Guess those runs on the beach you had been planning are going to be higher-impact than you had thought, huh? I'm sure that it's a gorgeous view, even without the sand. How's the spray tan holding up?

And yes, I did get lei'd! Right off the plane! Oh, one comment I had that made me feel great: as we were departing the plane here in Kona, the flight attendent said to me, "I need a body like that"! I was thinking to myself "a flight attendent wants MY body"? Boy, is that a switch for me.

Hi Emma, no runs on teh beach, but we did do a 3 mile run/walk here in the resort area and FIL took hubby and I to the Fitness center at their resort this morning to get a real cardio session in. So I did 30 min on ellip with HIIT in there and some abs and pull ups and push ups. The spray tan is still looking pretty good. No streaks!

Hi Joan, I am staying on program pretty darn good. Even brought my own chicken to FIL house last night for the birthday bash and no cake. I did "chose" to have a frozen yogurt today from CostCo. This will be my splurge on the trip along with some rosemary french bread with dinner.

What an awesome compliment....doesn't that make you feel like all the hard work and dedication is worth it?? That's because it is!!!

Hard work might be wrong word for you ...b/c I see how much you enjoy and love your training.

My tan usually looks good, but it'll start to run after I sweat too much. Brown streaks run down my chest. Yuck but funny

Oh my what a ride home! I am so glad to be home! We had yet another 4.5 hour delay yesterday from Honolulu to Sac then when we finally boarded the plane, the Captain came on the speaker to say sorry about the delay we had "to work some bugs out on this new plane"! Oh, THAT made me feel real good!

Then the cargo door made this horrible sound as it was closing and we thought it didn't seal properly so we called the flight attendents over to ask them to ask the cock pit about it. They brought an off-duty captain over to talk with us about it (others on the plane thought the same thing, we all had the deer-in-the headlights look). He assured us it was just because it was a new plane. Still not feeling happy. Then as we are taxiing out to the runway, the flight attendents come on the speaker to say we are returning to the gate to remove a passenger that was causing problems. We thought it might be us! They took these crying little kids down by us. Apperently a guy was making some awful commotion and scaring passengers so we went back, air marshalls and police came on board and escorted this guy and his wife off the plane! Ok, our flight was supposed to leave at 1:45pm Hawaii time, we left at 6:10 pm Hawaii time! Got home at 12:35 am Sac time. Home at 2:00am. Buzz had to get up at 4:00am to drive to his court appointment this morning. The attorney is 99.9% sure we will be granted full legal custody of Emmy.

Joan: hi and I decided to do a full body workout at home today. Washing clothes, cleaning house, grocery shopping, etc. to do today.

I did just sign up with MsFit for 30 weeks and am very excited to start the new program on Monday!

I did manage to stay on my diet about 85% while on vacation, had a few dessert treats, but overall ate pretty good. Too many bars on the plane though. I feel gasey and bloated today! Ate all the muscle muffins so I didn't have any for the loooong trip home. I did run 4 days for 4 miles (was very suprised my knees did not bother me, perhaps quads are stronger now and support better?) and went to the fitness center once for an ellip workout and did 2 - 4 mile walks.

Also got 4 chapters done for NASM!

Did I mention I was glad to be home??

I missed my FitDay, my dogs, my house, my regular life! Next vacation will be in a car!
