The shark hasn't eaten for 10 whole days? I'm no marine biologist, but I would think after 10 days that shark isn't going to be much of a challenge. Frankly, I would be suprised if, after 10 days of starvation, the shark was even alive.

edit to point out a few facts:

1) A human typically dies after 7 days of starvation. By the 5th day the person experiences fatigue, dizzyness, and loss of strength.

2) Sharks don't sleep. I would imagine that this fact alone would indicate that the metabolisim of a shark is faster than that of a human.

Yeah, sharks dont need to eat quite as much as humans, so he wouldnt be anywhere near starvation, he just be that much more pissed off cause he hadnt eaten for 10 days. You have to be on drugs to vote yes. Great whites are warm-bodied (certain parts of the body running at higher temperatures, while the heart and gills run at sea-temperature), keeping most of their body up to 14° C above the surrounding water, which would suggest a high metabolism. Despite that, the few estimates that have been made suggest they are economical with their calories and can go weeks between meals. Due to problems keeping great whites in captivity, no concrete figures for this exist.
