reflection on what went wrong and what i can do better

SO im about 7 days out and feel great. Im on ripped fuel about 6 tabs a day, working out like a beast and gettin at least 6 meals consisting of protien and vegies( the morning meal has oatmeal). I have not done a stitch of cardio, and am looking better than when i was doing cardio.

My second show is coming up, the forst on was may 3 2003 and i took second , i hope to win the california show may 24 2003. THe reason i feel i did not win the last show was i was not condidtoned enough. I tried to drop too much too fast, i was running my ass off, eating little. as result having ****ty workouts, felt extremely irratated, and tierd.

THis time i can feel my metabolism speeding up, im gettin hungrier more and more, ( the time span between hunger periods is shorter - prime sign of a raging metabolism) i look lik im aobut to peak soon, every day im noticing more vascualrity, better seperation as muscles are healing from their last workout and stariations in the delts, tricapes, quads, and calves. I noticed veind running in the TOP of my midsecton slong with the inner part of my lats.

All togeter i feel that there is no overcompensation of working out that can promote good condiditoning, just time. I gave myself about 4 weeks to peak for the contra costa show( the one i took second in) because i was so concerne about trying to bulk to the last min. For the cal sow i have had 8 weeks of dieting, and a week off. After the cc show i took the week off and did hiking for about 5 days( im stillin hs but i was full filled my comunity service at a camp). THis helep my overtrained body recover.

Righ now im concerned about three things, one is since im always hungry should i jsut consume more protien to full fill this feeling? what is the purpose for not working out three days before the show? and if i take a natural duiaretic like dandelin root tea three times a day can i still drink my 2 gallons of water up intill friday night? The only purpose i see for dehydrating is to weigh less.

If you're hungry, eat more frequent meals and if you need more food, go with chicken and brocolli, which I'd imagine you're already eating plenty of. As far as water, I'd drop it to 1 gallon Thursday and 1/2 gallon on Friday. Dropping water always makes me look much harder plus I don't sweat as much on stage. Also, eat salted oranges and maybe a banana right before you pump up. You can also eat a few Jolly Ranchers or other hard candy while you pump up. If you're like me, the Jolly Ranchers will bring out striations in your jaw.

As far as eating when you feel hungry... we'd all be fat if we did that... you have to try and stay within your calorie maintenance level or less. If you feel real hungry try eating some veggies. They don't have many calories and fill you up good.

As far as losing water, besides losing weight you will also look drier, which produces a harder look. The goal is to lose the water just under your skin which leaves you with a saran wrap tightness and have the water within your muslce to give yourself that full muscle belly. This is a balancing act which is hard to achieve. Most people do not get there. They either have too much water and appear bloated or smooth or too little water in the muscles and appear flat.

im going to take dandeling root(sp can someone give me a better spelling on that so i can pick some up this weekend) about tuesday while im consuming the 2+ gallons of water, im going to drop 1/2 gallon every day untill friday. I figure if that 1/2 gallon lasta all day i should be good along witht the tea.

Anyone know why you are not suppose to workout three days befor the show, aside from the fact that you dont want to be sore? it doesnt make complet sence to me. Also how should i workout on my last day in the gym?

Sunday will be my last leg day untill after the show, monday sill be lats and arms, tuedays will be chest sholders, abs, what sould wensday be? I know i should be glycogen depelted so that my carb up goes extremely well. How whould iworkout to makimize glycogen depeltion, and not use legs

i haven't put this theory to work yet but I have heard from numerous top level natural bodybuilders that cutting water actually makes you hold more. They all say drink a ton of water which will in return flush your body of the excess water you don't need. even the day of the show they say to drink about a gallon throughout that day. I believe this is geared towards natural competitors only because gear users tend to hold water from the gear. Next season I am gonna try this approach. My show in April I look back and was smooth. I stopped drinking water the day before around 6pm. Has anyone ever tried this method and what were your results. So far I have heard a few results from people that did this and also seen them onstage and they looked killer. full, hard, vascular and right on the money. i'm always interested in the sodium/water topic.

what if you drank about a gallon of water through the day befroe the show, and after weigh ins, but stayed on the duiaretic tea. You would still be hydrated but you body would be getting rid of it as soon as it got it. It seams like a theorie that would work, bodybuilding is all about tricking the body.
