GrapeFruit Question, Reps 4 help
im currently taking medication which prohibits me from consuming grapefruits and grapefruit juice. However my medication ends on Tuesday, on the Label for my prescription says "DO NOT EAT GRAPEFRUIT OR DRINK GRAPEFRUIT JUICE AT ANY TIME WHILE TAKING THIS MEDICATION" my question is how long should i wait before consuming grapefruits ? i have this grapefruit amino acid supplement which i want to take PWO. You think 24 hours is good enough ? i started taking this medication Wednesday, on the 21st, and i stop taking it on the 27th, so its roughly 6 days......

Ask your doctor or a qualified pharmacist. Taking anonymous medical advise is... well...

It depends on the substance you're taking. Some drugs stay in the body for much, much longer than others.
If you're taking diazepam (Valium), I'm not sure how long it stays in the body, so you'd better ask your doctor. Taking grapefruit will greatly amplify the effects of it, quite possibly dangerously so.

It really says that? I wonder what the interaction is. It makes grapefruit sound like some serious ****.

I know grapefruit blocks (a) certain digestive enzyme(s) in the stomach... greatly reducing the rate at which some drugs are broken down.
I think 24 hours is safe... I think it more refers to taking grapefruit and the drug at the same time.
Of course the best course of action would be to call your doctor and ask.
-Good Luck
