Hey guys,
Just need a quick advice on it. I'm getting out with friends tonight and just wanted to know if it's better for me to drink vodka or beer. I know I should't and it really don't fit with my diet, but **** it we're all humans and sometimes we need to break the diet a little bit :P The thing is if I drink vodka I'll probably mix it with orange juice (so a lot of sugar), but I'll get less calories from the vodka compare to beers.

Vodka has 70 calories per 1oz. and an average beer will have around 125 calories. However, 1 beer is equivalent to 1.5oz of liquor (when comparing grams of alcohol). So to get 'equally as drunk', you will need less beer than shots, but the calories will still be higher with beer. Also, the calories from vodka are almost 100% alcohol, while the calories from beer contain a lot of carbs.
Essentially, vodka is the better choice in terms of consuming less calories, but hey if you prefer beer and want the extra carbs, then go for beer.
Also, I wouldn't mix it with OJ, I would use diet soda...0 calories, and OJ has a lot of sugar to make you more hungover the next day.

Depends. If you're worried about calories, drink vodka. If not, drink beer.
Here's some pros cons.
Vodka
cons: dries out throat, really ****s up REM sleep(needed for growth/recovery)
pros: no calories, get wasted fast as hell.
beer
cons: dense in calories, ****s with rem sleep, but not as bad as vodka.

Because Im in my last semester of university, I enjoy my social life and I enjoy drinking pretty regularly. If its between 10 shots of Captain Morgans at 600 calories, or 7-8 beers at just under 1000 calories, that s*** adds up over time. Especially during a cut, its much easier to fit 600 calories into your limit compared to 1000 calories.
Oh and I know that this is bodybuilding.com and alcohol severely hinders gains etc. etc., Im educated and know exactly what Im doing to my body.
