Wow, only a class 2 total needed for drug free raw nationals.
Interesting that TRT / HRT recipients (such as myself) are off the table no questions asked. Probably the most practical way to do it. Steve runs a great federation, especially out here in California, so I'm sure this will do well.

Plus USPA has the rep of being a good judging fed while also not having the stigma of being depth nazis which might be appealing to some. They're not going to come near the USAPL any time soon I don't think in terms of turnout for tested nationals or anything but they might grow pretty quickly.

Just what the doctor ordered! More divisions to further dilute down the competition. Finally we can take the most successful meets of all time, USPA Nationals and IPL "There was a guy from Canada" WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS, and cut the number of lifters in half for each one. Now anyone can be a national or world champion!

Fam, had the best meet of my life. After 8 months without squatting because of groin tear, started to prep for raw nationals 4 months ago. Managed 512,5kg / 1129lbs @ 73,3kg / 161lbs. That's a 52,5kg total PR.
Managed to squat - 185kg / 407lbs (15kg PR), bench - 117,5kg / 259lbs (7,5kg PR), deadlift - 210kg / 462lbs.
So that won me first place in IPF, junior -74kg class, so second year in a row i'm a national champion. (this was first meet as a Junior and in new weight class).

Eh, what does it matter anyway? People are going to lift in whatever federation. In the end the videos and numbers will speak for themselves, but if people want to feel like they're in a more level competition with equipment they'd prefer (deadlift bar) then what's the big deal?

The whole 220 thing is going awesome. Skip to way later in the video if you don't want to hear me talk. I'm going to the strong box pro am on February 20th, and going to be lifting among Pete Rubish, Brandon Franklin, and Tim Paynter so I'm real pumped for it.
Gonna put up a sick total hopefullyhttp://www.youtube.com/user/njvfevfw

I see what you're saying, but I'm not sold that this is going to water down the USPA. Steve is a pretty smart guy and I think he thought about what you're saying here. However, like someone already stated lifters are gonna lift where they wanna lift. Speaking from experience from lifting in and attending large USPA meets like nationals or IPL, the majority of the male lifters sure look to be in the right place if you know what I mean. I think offering drug tested meets will pull in a lot of lifters who'd otherwise stay away from the USPA.

@arian, smk etc. please help
so I wrote a letter of complain and they told me that these are in fact the 2.5m version, and that upon stretching the wraps should be around 2.5m long
is this correct, 2.5m wraps are exactly 2m long when buying, and apparently 2m wraps are 1.65m long? I can only compare them to my lilliebridge wraps which are now 2.55m long but I'm not sure how long those were when I first bought them

After seeing a hard workout you may want to complain and want others to pity you for the work you have to do. Your mom will pity you. Your girl will pity you. I may pity you, but your competition will not pity you. They will step on you, walk over you and spit on you. Boris Sheiko

I'm pretty excited about the USPA running a drug-tested division personally.
I was planning on doing USAPL meets starting next year since they're supposedly going to start hosting them in my state - but I absolutely hate pulling on a stiff bar.
Having a drug-tested fed with good, consistent judging plus being able to use a DL bar (and wraps if you want) seals the deal for me.
I've competed in APA drug-tested division - but if I were to look up records for that I wouldn't exactly feel confident that the user was drug-free or whatever compared to say USAPL (just my opinion).
I wonder if USPA will enact the same drug-testing procedures and policies as USAPL. Only thing I could find is that the testing is completed through Redwood Laboratories, but it doesn't specify what exactly it tests for. Personally, I think it's silly that something like marijuana is tested for and can result in a ban - especially considering a bunch of states have legalized it. Inb4 strong location to post ratio lulz.Awesome pics. Great size. Look thick. Solid. Tight. Keep us all posted on your continued progress with any new progress pics or vid clips. Show us what you got man. Wanna see how freakin' huge, solid, thick and tight you can get. Thanks for the motivation.

Where does the $$$ come from?
At USAPL Nationals you will see the best lifters in USAPL, in both the raw and equipped meets. That's not the case with USPA with lifters opting to lift at various expos or simply feds close to where they live. How does USPA create a big division down the middle but retain any competition? Hell, I'd argue that raw worlds in IPF isn't even close to as competitive as equipped worlds. And that's in the most popular federation in the world and even has crossover between raw and equipped with lifters doing both. AWPC (WPC) and AAPF (APF) were drug tested divisions made to compete with USAPL except with monolifts, squat bars, deadlift bars and lifter-friendly judging. They had good participation early on and are just about dead now because the competition in WPC isn't anything worth writing home about. WPC and AWPC even had the benefit of being established international feds and allowing qualification across the board in virtually in any other fed. The decision screams "Anyone, come win a gold medal become a national champion!" to me.Last edited by BYOBB; 11-30-2015 at 09:02 AM.
