i tried searching but couldnt really get a stright answer. im bulking right now but i still want to get rid if just some of my belly fat so i can start seeing my abs again lol. I do about a thousand situps at the gym, 700 crunches, 100 upper ab machine with weight resistance, 100 upper and lower abb machine with weight resistance and 100 incline situps. I also run for a good 15-20 minutes in the beginning as a warm up everyday. so is there a good way to lose just some belly fat while i bulk, or is it just physically impossible>?

the best thing you can do is do abit of cardio after your workouts.
do all your weight training than do 15-20 minutes of HIIT about 2-3 times a week.
keep a surplus in your calorie intake.
if you do cardio after your workout you will have used up your glycogen stores.
aslong as your Heart rate is under 80% of its max than you will be burning mostly fat.

wtf
Youre bulking, don't worry about fat gain. Doing cardio while bulking will only make you have to work harder to bulk. You will not honestly gain that much fat bulking (especially assuming youre gonna be one of those guys who thinks he is "bulking" on 2k calories a day which based on the info from your posts you probably will). Bulk now and after you've gained a good amount of muscle you can increase cardio, eat less, and you'll lose "bellyfat"

Yeah man honestly forget about that belly fat for right now. Its going in to fall/winter so likely nobody is gonna be really seeing you without a shirt on, just bulk like mad, and then once you've gained some muscle do a cut and get rid of the fat. Also clean bulking will help keep the fat gain to a minimum.

going by the picture you are obv. new to working out or you have done alot of things wrong. So eat alot, cardio dont worry, just by lifting you will lean out.

If you want to bulk, and get big as quickly as possible (recommended) Forget about your abs, you will increase the amount of bodyfat you have. Note: Fat can't be lost from a single area only, it comes off defecit from the body as a whole.
Reach your goal in muscle mass, you wont even have to touch your abs, squatting and such is enough of an indirect stability workout. Then cut, torch the bodyfat off, and it will be worth the wait.
Good luck..

?????? I doubt you do that much, judging from your picture no way. you would atleast have 2 top abs if you did that much. -_-.
As for bulking and losing belly fat. thats going to be hard. Your going to gain a belly when you bulk. So you either bulk or you cut. And do HIIT cardio. Cardio is the key to see your abs."Put all your excuses aside and remember this. You are Capable."

unless you figured out a way to break the laws of the universe its damn near impossible lol.
If your eating an excess of calories (to bulk) then you are gaining mass, whether it is muscle, fat etc.
And if your eating less than your burning in calories (to cut) then you will lose mass, whether its muscle, fat etc.
To me it seems like basic maths... how can you be in excess and cut? I dont know, and I doubt anyone does, probabaly coz its so impossibly complicated that its not worth your time lol.

Lmao you do 1000 crunches? I see no abs. You have no olbiques. Im srs though. Ever heard of clean bulk? Take more fat out of your diet and still eat 500 more calories than maintence. Bascially just eat healhier while bulking. You might still gain fat but you wont gain as much compared to dirty bulking
Gyno???

Dont worry about it dude.
Worrying about chicken-**** like "I cant see my abs" will only heinder your long term progress.
Most people go into a bulk knowing they say bye-bye to their abs.....really as long as you dont look like a fatass in your shirts (lol you'd have to gain like no muscle and pure fat, for how thin you are), it doesnt matter...summer's over, and if you bulk now, and cut before next summer...you will only look bigger and better than before =O!
lol....do you even know what gyno is dude? lul.
you dont know what you're talking about...calories are calories, 500 dirty calories= 500 clean calories, the only difference would be the calories burned by digestion, which is so miniscule it doesnt matter.
I would only eat clean, because it allows you to get tons of protein and tons of food...if you eat dirty, you lose energy in the gym, have less food in your stomache, and mentally you feel like **** and you get all paranoid cause you think you're gaining fat super fast etc. =/.
EDIT: A lot of pro bb'ers only eat dirty because their maintenance is so damn high that even while eating dirty they get so damn bloated they want to throw up their food. Some of them eat like 6k calories ED on a bulk...thats like 12.5lbs of chicken breast...srs.Last edited by RaveBDK; 08-29-2009 at 03:46 PM.

Focus on getting plenty of protein from good healthy food.stay away from junk food, soda, white bread etc. Lift at least 4 days a week and get some cardio a few days a week and focus on putting on good quality muscle. At your age and being new to weightlifting, you should see some results fairly quickly assuming you put the proper effort into your training and nutrition. No need to do a bulk in your position imo.
