^nice bro
and bros who squat 5+ times a week. what program do you follow, or do you just squat to max ever time, or have some kind of procedure? do you squat multiple times a day?
I want to go back to training each lift in independent sessions, and have about 8-10 sessions a week, instead of doing everything in MWF 3 session block. So a session is dedicated to either snatch or clean&jerk and accessory stuff at end, trying to figure out how you fit squatting into this
so a given week would look something like

GJ on PRs.
I like my beard.
BTW, there is a possibility I won't be able to make it tommorow. My stupid ****ing POS cheap-ass bike burst a tire, I want to fix it ASAP so I'm going to have to walk it to the nearest bike repair shop after class, don't know how long that will take.
And that's strict pressing BW for a triple, btw. New PR of 185x3. I srs don't understand how in the **** WHT_LIGHTNING can push press 125 kg+ with similar strict press numbers. I struggle with 2 wheels. WHT, how the **** do you push press so much?
EDIT: OK, I just remembered there's a bike repair shop literally next to CF, so I can still go I think, and do both, but it's gonna be so ****ing annoying to wheel my bike to CF. Goddamnit.Last edited by jb4476; 11-25-2012 at 08:37 PM.

I try to play it by feel. Like ftwrestler I squat 9x/week (4x front, 4-5x back). I can tell from the warm up sets if there is a decent chance that I will PR. All PRs are rep attempts, I rarely attempt rep schemes lower than 3, stick to around 3-7.
If the chance is there, I'll go for it. Sometimes I feel like I might be able to bust out a high rep PR but not a low rep PR. Like yesterday, I hit 300x6 on the BS even though my original plan was to hit 325x3, I could feel from the warm up that there was a better chance of hitting a higher rep PR. If there is clearly no chance of doing something decent on a given day based on how hard the last warm up set was, I'll usually just bail out right there. This happens sometimes, mostly it seems to happen when I'm with Coach, which is really annoying. If that happens, I will try to hit what I intended on the next day. Sometimes I get very close to a PR but just miss it. That annoys me so when that happens I will sometimes try again the next day. That's what happened on Friday/Saturday, I almost back squat PRed on Friday, but missed by 1 rep, but then got a new rep PR on Saturday. Today I almost FS PRed, my intention was 285x5, but I missed with one rep, with 285x4. So I intend to try to hit it tomorrow. There are days where I FS and BS in the same session, because unlike ftwrestler, I can't train both am/pm. In that session, I give priority to whichever lift was not the most recent rep PR. So on Friday, for example, I FS/BSed, but since my most recent rep PR was in the FS, I BSed first.Last edited by jb4476; 11-25-2012 at 10:30 PM.

I've been lazy since Oct and have been cheating my squats. but when i did squat consistently on program this is what i followed
So i've never really been concerned about higher rep maxes or even single/double rep maxes. I probably want to keep this in as a skelton, and add in random stuff like partial squats and OHS, not really sure.

LA Bros, I can't make it today because I need to get my bike repaired. Fortunately, there is bike repair on campus (which is awesome because it absolutely blows to walk a bike for 2 miles). The problem is, campus bike repair opens at 7, so by the time I'm done, Coach will be closing up shop anyway, I'd walk to CF or ask you to pick me up but I need to stay and wait here until 7.
In the meantime, this:

Stupid elbows can't ****ing keep chest up on the last rep. Every damn time.

Anybody here ever have elbow issues? I've posted about my baseball career in the past and I definitely think that's a contributing factor, but lately I've been having a lot of pain in the back of the elbow which really only presents itself when my arms are fully extended.
I can't tell if it's an elbow issue or a tricep issue, either way it's frustrating.
If you've had similar issues, what fixes have you found? I've tried Voodoo flossing and it helps a bit, but not to the extent I'd like.

I've been lurking this thread a while and figured it's time to get in. No experience oly lifting and I started 4 weeks ago. My mobility is holding me back, but for now I have bests of 85kg snatch, 100kg c&j, 120kg clean, and 137kgx3 front squat (hit 159kg once a few months ago). Haven't snatched or jerked in two weeks due to a wrist injury so not much lifting over the last 6-8 weeks, can't wait until the wrist is healed so I can get on a consistent program.

Aspiring Home Gym-er here.
Looking for a barbell. Price range ~$600. Hopefully something that will last. It's for a single person, I'll take care of it. Going to be using it for squats, presses, cleans, snatches, and clean pull/snatch pull. No benching, no dead lifting, and no weird ****. I've only been olympic lifting for ~6 months (but lifting for two and a half years prior to that) and injured for 4 of those six - so I... know enough to know that I'm awful.
Only experiences with olympic barbells are with a York men's bar (32002), York North American bar (32112) and Rogue Power Bar. I find the knurling on the York bars to be very soft, it's not a dealbreaker but a little rougher would be nice. I hate the North American bar (because it's 32mm). I like the flexibility of the York bar, but I'm worried about their durability - the gym has gone through three in the two years I've been using it, but I don't know if that's from poor treatment or poor quality. Rogue bars are out, because I want a 28mm bar, with knurling all the way to the ends.
Based on the research I've been able to do, that pretty much means a Pendlay Bearing Bar is the nicest thing in my price range. Am I right here, or is there something I'm missing, and can anyone comment on the durability and their likes/dislikes of this bar?
Cheers
