    Thumbs down Puking after workout

    Who else has? Today I worked out full body hard for a little over an hour with no breaks and wanted to puke so bad. It tasted like blood in the bottom of my throat. Probably not the best thing..

I was able to do 3 sets of barbell bench, 4 sets of military dumbell press, 3 sets of upright rows, 4 sets of squats, 3 sets of leg curls, 3 sets of leg extensions, 4 sets of curls, 3 sets of flies, and 3 sets of calf raises in a hour. Felt pretty good

    Oh, that makes a little more sense. But if I were crunched for time id do less sets and make the ones I'm doing more worthwhile. Just my 2 cents.

    Eyed the trash can a few times in the past when doing legs myself, but never puked. I wouldn't be to worried unless it's a frequent thing.

    It's happened to me, but not after the workout, but after a really hard intense part of the session. It's usually something that has some sort of endurance aspect to it, like medleys with heavy yoke walks or pulling my truck, etc. Gym lifts have never done it to me.

    I know that if I eat within two hours before an intense lifting session i feel like puking as well. In your case though i would be worried about dehydration. If you work to hard and are not hydrated enough you get light headed, your throat dries out ( maybe why tasteing blood in your throat), and feel nausious.

    i always feel like puking after a good workout, but that would just be a waste of cals. I just lay down in my car for a bit afterward. Just gotta take things slow after your workout so you have more control over whether you're gonna puke or not.

    I have a weak stomach and have puked more times during workouts/hockey/soccer than I'd care to remember. Try not to eat a pile right before working out, and learn your limits.

    I know what you mean. I've only done it once before but this time was terrible. Driving home, every bump made me want to die.

    A lot of my clients get nauseous if their blood sugar gets low. Few packets of sugar and some water calms it.

    Maybe that was it. Platinum Pump Fuel has zero sugar. I took it beforehand and really thought it was loaded with it...

    I puke just about everytime a squat. But I keep the trash can in from of me while I squat since I got in trouble for puking to much.

    ..its less about the calorie loss and more about the complete and utter inefficiency of training until you puke.

    its very "hardcore" in the crossfit sense, but it usually has a detrimental effect on getting stronger...y'know what we're all supposedly here to do?

    OP: I've never really felt like puking after a workout, but definitely felt like dying if you know what I mean. Sometimes I just fall to the ground and just close my eyes and nothing is going through my mind at all.
    Now soccer and football practice, that's a different story. I remember this one time I felt like puking and like you said every bump made me want to throw up. My dad was driving because I was like 15, and he had to pull over and let me lay down on the cold ground for a minute.
    Then football came later in life....and I just straight up puked.

    Its normal , what happen is Lactic acid builds up in your blood stream and this will result in whats called metabolic acidosis ( your blood will be acidic) so ur body will try to bring the Ph back to normal so you will puke to lose some acid from ur stomach..
